Sweet Fire Kitchen, located on the lobby level of the La Cantera Resort & Spa, features an open-air exhibition style kitchen with a wood fired pizza oven. Guests will enjoy a twist on regional, home-style cuisine along with signature dishes from our fire-roasted oven. The casual dining venue offers indoor seating with spectacular views of the Texas Hill Country and al fresco dining overlooking Plaza San Saba. My friends and I had the pleasure of dining at Sweetfire Kitchen located in the beautiful La Cantera Resort and Spa, and it was an experience to remember. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly matched the resort's luxurious setting. The food was nothing short of exceptional. Each dish was expertly prepared, with fresh, high-quality ingredients that made every bite a delight. The menu offered a variety of options, catering to different tastes, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. Whether you’re a fan of classic dishes or looking to try something new, Sweetfire Kitchen delivers on all fronts. Parker, our server, was fantastic. The drinks were delicious as was the food! The ambience is beautiful (we sat outside). Overall an exceptional dining experience.

We were referred to Sweetfire Kitchen by one of the hotel’s long-term employees who raved about the food and ambience. Although we enjoyed a very good meal (the cornbread will not disappoint!), it lacks pizzaz and a finer sense of ambience to match the cache of the rest of the resort. Our server, Christina, was top-flight: knowledgeable, professional, and not-too-chatty. The food was well-prepared and nicely presented, but not “wow” with flavor. The setting could be seen as romantic, but with families and children packed in like a cafeteria, it is like 2 steps forward and one step back. Also, like all of La Cantera, it thinks highly of itself with a price-tag to match.

Very disappointed. Came here since we’re staying at the hotel and this is the second restaurant where service has taken forever. We waited an hour and a half for our food (with a toddler). It took 25 mins before anyone took our drink order so we ordered everything at once and it still took an hour and a half to get the food. By the time we got it we had to ask them to box everything because we needed to get our son to bed. We had a reservation and they even seated us 15 mins early so we were surprised at how long everything took. Thankfully they comped our meal after all of that but it was just a bummer since we were supposed to be celebrating a birthday.

This place is really nice! We had their breakfast buffet. They had a lot to chose from to eat. The service was very friendly. We will be going back soon!!!

The food has a different spin to some of the items but very yummy. Our waiter was helpful and had great customer service. The environment was quiet at lunchtime and perfect for the day.
