Sweet Lula’s Restaurant is a BYOB avant-garde unique Brunch and Dinner romantic cosy dining experience in Pitman, New Jersey. We won an award for our famous sweet potato sausage corn chowder. We are close to Rowan University.
We are family owned and operated by executive chef Anthony Asbury (a very famous Puppeteer) he has an Emmy displayed in the restaurant and has worked with Jim Henson and Steven Spielberg. We also play movies which we project onto a large screen which is very unique ! We are a free-flowing scratch kitchen plus veggie, vegan, and gluten-free friendly. Keep your eyes out for Chef Anthony's British wife, Lula (a previous famous pop star and Model in the 80s), she may be singing a few songs on Friday and Saturday nights. We open Thursday to Sunday for Dinner 5pm-9pm and Brunch Saturdays and Sundays 10am-3pm. Come try our food and see what everyone is talking about. Steak and Seafood is our speciality. We recently dined at Sweet Lula’s on a Thursday evening to try their prix fix menu. Our meal was delicious and our server Rose was awesome. We hadn’t been to this restaurant for awhile but we loved the menu and everything we had was great. My shrimp scampi was delicious as was the Lula’s salad. My husband really enjoyed the chicken parm. Will definitely be back soon!

this was my second time there and I wanted to go back because the first time which was on Easter was incredible. Sadly decided to go there for Mother’s Day and it was nothing from problems from the time we sat down until the time we left our server was great but our reservation was at 12:45 and they had already run out of one of the specials which to me seemed a little ridiculous. When we got our cheese plate, there was almost nothing on it. Compared to the tables next to ours. One of the meals that we ordered clearly stated that it came with linguine and it got served over Penna. also it seems to be that our food sat under the warmer for quite some time as well. Sadly, we will not be going back.

Me and my besties had seen Vicky Lawrence at Pitman theater and we had reservations right after and it was so good! The food! The service! We even saw Vicky in the restaurant. Great time was had by all!

Lovely dining option in Pitman. Friendly service. BYOB. Nice option before or after a show at Pitman Theatre.

Service was horrible! Server did not know how to open a wine bottle and wound up with cork in the wine. She seemed very nervous even taking our order and never came back to check on how our food was! She messed up the check—we were honest and told her she missed charging us an entree so we asked for our check to be fixed to add that entree. Overall, very disappointing trip to Sweet LuLa’s…probably will not go back.

My only complaint was when we got to the restaurant they said they didn’t have my reservations through Open Table. Luckily there were available tables so there was no problem being seated right away. My husband got the short ribs & said they were very good & I got the salmon. It was a little undercooked for my liking but they immediately took it back & when it was returned to me it was perfect & delicious. Lula used to sing & entertain but hasn’t done it in a while. We had a show to attend so wouldn’t have been able to stay to hear her performance anyway. We were seated at 6:35 & were out within an hour so had plenty of time to walk across the street & pick up our tickets from will call. We’ve eaten at Sweet Lula’s before & always enjoyed it. We were not disappointed.

This was our first time dining at Sweet Lula’s and it was a very nice experience. The service was great and every menu item came out timely. The food overall was very good especially the southwestern corn soups we started with. As for entrees, the filet steak was slightly overcooked as medium but I ordered it medium rare knowing that even the best places usually slightly overcook steaks. But it was tender and nicely seasoned and was delicious. The short ribs were not so good; the dish was was very fatty and a lot of bone but had a nice flavor. The key lime pie was a nice finish to the meal. Place was BYOB which was nice. We will definitely revisit to try out other menu items as this was a great place to dine.
