Le menu de chez Swan reflète un style britannique moderne, avec des produits locaux de saison, des menus à la carte et des repas après le théâtre disponibles toute la semaine. Swan sert également un thé quotidien très prisé entre midi et 15h30 du lundi au samedi, le dimanche de 14h30 à 15h30 avec une délicieuse sélection de sandwiches faits maison et des gâteaux et des scones fraîchement cuits. I have eaten at the swan many times and have always found it fantastic. However, on my recent visit it was very poor. At first we had to wait for our table which I have no issue with. Yet, the receptionist quite rudely told us you’re too early come back later. I would have preferred an offer to sit at the bar. So I asked could we and got a curt reply of fine. No one came to get us when our table was ready and I had to ask twice. When we did get to our table after requesting a window table to our booking coinciding with a birthday. We were sat a fantastic table set for two when we two minutes later we were asked to move as the table was needed for a booking of four. We were then placed in a dark corner away from the window. The booking for four did not appear during our visit. The service was poor. With all the staff that was on the floor, it took three attempts to ask for dessert menu until we gave up and left. I’ve known staff to be very attentive on previous visits but we were very much left in our dark corner. The food was fine. Just about warm. Very disappointed from a regular diner.

Our afternoon tea experience was very nice. However the staff had not checked the notes I sent when I booked, where I’d let them know we were celebrating a birthday and that we had a vegetarian in the group. I was a bit disappointed by this. The food could have been fresher - some of the sandwiches were soggy and the biscuits soft. The variety was excellent and the gentleman’s tea especially good. I would return to try another menu. The setting is stunning and I think that is the main draw.

We had a great lunch out today with a group of 10 people and our server - Jacob - was amazing and couldn't do enough for us.; he was the right side of attentive without being intrusive, and so so patient when we took an age to sort out the bill (thank you!). Thank you also to Nadia who took care of one of our party who was ill - very patient & kind. The food was nice - one of our party didn't think she had blue cheese on a burger special, but it was all very enjoyable and to a good standard. It was very buzzy in the bar, so sometimes we struggled to hear each other, but we went with the flow and we'll definitely come back again. Thanks everyone - especially Jacob - for making our girls reunion a smashing success.

We were held up going to the restaurant and contacted them to let them know. The staff were really helpful and simply rearranged the reservation time. When we arrived the staff were very understanding and attentive. The afternoon tea was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely especially when it went darker outside - the lights inside the restaurant were dimmed and it felt lovely and cosy. I would definitely go again and would highly recommend it.

I was surprised by the price. 12.5% was added on top. I would like to tip. I thought it would have been written somewhere if the restaurant itself imposed it.

The service we had was great and they went above and beyond to help our party of 20. That part that lets it down is the very limited menu and the fact that the menu does not list everything in the items. We had a person who could not eat her food due to allergies, and they did not list the item on the menu. She found out that it contained onions when biting into the first bite. The food was very basic and small portions On the plus side the service and selection or drinks was excellent.

The food was excellent but the service was a bit spotty. Two tables who were seated after me were served first, and I don’t know that I would ever have been served if I had not called out to the waiter. The same was true when it was time to pay the bill. Someone brought the cheque, but I needed to ask someone to bring the machine so I could actually pay it.
