Really loved our meal at Roku. Service was outstanding as were the food options. Family of 4 with 2 kids, something on the menu for everyone. Particularly enjoyed the spicy tuna maki, steak gyoza and popcorn shrimp.

Food was very good. Loved their rolls. The service was not good. We waited almost 40 minutes for our order and the waiter walked by our table several times and never stopped to check on us or explain why the wait. He could have at least asked me for another drink and explain any problem but that never happened.

We came for a 7:45 pm dinner reservation that did not appear too busy when we arrived. After being seated, there was a long delay before the server came up to us despite seeing him attend to the adjacent table. I had finished my wine and water long before the food coming out, we listened to another table complain of the long wait from another server's area, saw a manager(?) overseeing the flow, but did not appear to move things along, etc. We waited about 50 minutes before seeing our meal, never was offered additional water or asked about another drink, finished our dinner in about 10 minutes. Finally asked about the food (which was OK), asked about dessert (we declined because of that anticipated wait) and couldn't leave fast enough. The server was pleasant for the evening, but the numerous delays, lack of water refill, and the apparent observation we did not appreciate the work flow will keep us away from Sushi Roku. We are residents of the neighborhood, but it felt like this is a business that relies on plenty of turnover from tourists who will not return.

Drink cocktails are phenomenal here. Ordered the yellowtail, toro, and a few signature rolls and everything was worth coming back.

We’ve been going to sushi Roku Santa Monica since it opened over 30 years ago! It’s by far our favorite sushi restaurant and are now so happy that they have other locations in other cities so we can get our favorite sushi when we travel! The menu is incredibly broad and offer unique selections with preparations that I’ve only seen at sushi Roku! And of course the sushi is of exceptional quality and always Consistent. Our all-time fave is the yellowtail sashimi with diced chilies!! A must try when you’re there, You’ll definitely get hooked! I was recently in Japan for two weeks and of course the sushi is incredible there but honestly, Sushi Roku rivals it in every way! The atmosphere is really great too as they have indoor and outdoor seating and a really cool bar set up. And the service and management is incredible! They always make you feel like you are a VIP guest. Shout out to Andrew for always making us feel so welcome and part of the Roku family!

Food was amazing and our server did his best. In all fairness, the restaurant had a surge of customers on 4th of July and the service was slow. Our server was pleasant but we could tell that he was overwhelmed. We sat outside in very close quarters with tables that sat only two. It was a warm night but the table across from us wanted the heat lamp turned on. We were burning up and there weren’t any other tables to move to. We ended up moving our table back to get away from the heat. Food I give 5 stars!
