Happy Hour is only allowed inside, at the bar. So if you’re still trying to be Covid-safe, or want to enjoy the beautiful location they have (one of the draws) you have to pay full price. Unfortunate, as we are having a summer surge in Covid right now. The food was okay. Nothing amazing. They do have one short bar area facing a window so if you’re lucky enough to get those seats you can enjoy the ocean breeze & view while there for HH. Otherwise you’re sitting at a bar with your back to the ocean or facing the dark wood bar. Bummer. Server was nice & attentive, though. Stars for her!

Our family loves this restaurant and had eaten here twice over the weekend. Unfortunately the service was terrible on Sunday. We were sat at our table and it took over 15 minutes for our server to greet us and bring us water. Service continued to be incredibly slow throughout the meal, (it was not overly crowded), no attention to water refills. We actually rarely saw our server and had to ask for him three separate times. We waited on our dessert for over 30 minutes. Won’t be back for a while.

The music was so loud it was impossible to have any sort of conversation. We had to ask repeatedly for the volume to be turned down. Eventually the manager came to our table and explained that ‘the new owners wanted a more lively atmosphere’ and that music volume needed to be loud to create this atmosphere. He said he would turn it down a little and made it sound as if he was doing us a favor! Given that this is a sushi restaurant and no-one would be coming to it to ‘party’, I cannot see the benefit of such loud music. The fact that there were multiple vacant tables at 8p on a Friday evening in the summer suggests that diners are being put off by something…..

Really loved our meal at Roku. Service was outstanding as were the food options. Family of 4 with 2 kids, something on the menu for everyone. Particularly enjoyed the spicy tuna maki, steak gyoza and popcorn shrimp.

Food was very good. Loved their rolls. The service was not good. We waited almost 40 minutes for our order and the waiter walked by our table several times and never stopped to check on us or explain why the wait. He could have at least asked me for another drink and explain any problem but that never happened.

We came for a 7:45 pm dinner reservation that did not appear too busy when we arrived. After being seated, there was a long delay before the server came up to us despite seeing him attend to the adjacent table. I had finished my wine and water long before the food coming out, we listened to another table complain of the long wait from another server's area, saw a manager(?) overseeing the flow, but did not appear to move things along, etc. We waited about 50 minutes before seeing our meal, never was offered additional water or asked about another drink, finished our dinner in about 10 minutes. Finally asked about the food (which was OK), asked about dessert (we declined because of that anticipated wait) and couldn't leave fast enough. The server was pleasant for the evening, but the numerous delays, lack of water refill, and the apparent observation we did not appreciate the work flow will keep us away from Sushi Roku. We are residents of the neighborhood, but it felt like this is a business that relies on plenty of turnover from tourists who will not return.
