Sushi Roku Pasadena a réinventé l'expérience du bar traditionnel à sushi pour le transformer en un repas complet.     The service could have been better. I was there on business & mid conversation the waitress asked us to cash her out because she was being sent home by her manager.

    Sushi Roku in Pasadena has been a popular spot for sushi lovers, and during my recent visit, I found out why. The food, especially the miso soup, was delightful, rich, flavorful, and served at just the right temperature. It was a comforting start to the meal, setting a positive tone for the afternoon. The sushi itself was impressive, too, fresh and beautifully presented. I particularly appreciated their flexibility in customizing orders using soy paper, which added a unique twist to our dishes. However, while the food was top-notch, our experience was marred by a regrettable incident involving the staff. As my aunt entered the ladies' room, she was confronted by the manager, who inappropriately pointed her toward the men's room, citing that the ladies' room was for women. While my aunt understands that she may present in a way that confuses people, the comment came across as rude and unnecessary. It left her feeling humiliated, and unfortunately, this incident overshadowed the rest of our experience. While the service was generally okay, this specific moment had a ripple effect on the rest of our afternoon — we all left feeling less than satisfied despite the excellent food. It’s disappointing when a restaurant known for its culinary offerings falls short in the hospitality department. Sushi Roku has the potential to be a fantastic dining experience. Still, they need to ensure their staff is trained to treat every customer with respect and dignity, regardless of how they might present.

    I had high hopes for Sushi Roku, but unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was chaotic and uninviting. The noise level was incredibly high, making it difficult to enjoy a conversation or even hear myself think. It felt more like a busy cafeteria than a cozy sushi bar. The host was downright rude and seemed more interested in rushing through the seating process than making guests feel welcome. When I asked for a table with a bit more privacy, I was met with a condescending glare and a curt "this is what we have." The furniture arrangement didn’t help the situation either—tables were crammed together, leaving little room to move without bumping into other diners. Once seated, the experience didn’t improve much. Our server, while quick, seemed to speak in a strange jargon that was nearly impossible to follow. When I asked for clarification, they seemed annoyed, as if I should already know the terms. This added to the overall discomfort of the evening. The food itself was decent, but it was hard to enjoy it with everything else going wrong. A sushi bar should be a place to relax and enjoy a good meal, but the poor atmosphere, rude service, and confusing communication made this visit an unpleasant one. I won’t be returning anytime soon.
