Sushi Roku Pasadena a réinventé l'expérience du bar traditionnel à sushi pour le transformer en un repas complet. I had high hopes for Sushi Roku, but unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was chaotic and uninviting. The noise level was incredibly high, making it difficult to enjoy a conversation or even hear myself think. It felt more like a busy cafeteria than a cozy sushi bar. The host was downright rude and seemed more interested in rushing through the seating process than making guests feel welcome. When I asked for a table with a bit more privacy, I was met with a condescending glare and a curt "this is what we have." The furniture arrangement didn’t help the situation either—tables were crammed together, leaving little room to move without bumping into other diners. Once seated, the experience didn’t improve much. Our server, while quick, seemed to speak in a strange jargon that was nearly impossible to follow. When I asked for clarification, they seemed annoyed, as if I should already know the terms. This added to the overall discomfort of the evening. The food itself was decent, but it was hard to enjoy it with everything else going wrong. A sushi bar should be a place to relax and enjoy a good meal, but the poor atmosphere, rude service, and confusing communication made this visit an unpleasant one. I won’t be returning anytime soon.

We love coming to sushi roku. It is our favorite restaurant in Pasadena. The food is always delicious and well prepared and the service is excellent. Our favorite waiters are Liana and Lance. They are both very attentive and friendly and every time we go we feel like home! Thank you for making our family dinners special 🥰

As always, the food and service were excellent. The BEST crispy Brussels sprouts; I have yet to find another restaurant that compares to this dish.

Food very good … is under construction but you receive 20% discount . The prices are expensive but overall is nice place to stay but bring your wallet !!

We’ve been to Roku many times, and although there are less expensive and really good sushi options nearby ,we go to Roku for the ambience and nice bar along with great sushi. We learned as we walked in for our reservation that the bar area was being remodeled, so it was closed off with temporary walls, leaving the rest of the restaurant looking closed in and a bit makeshift. After being seated, we learned that there were very limited bar offerings— a request for a gin and tonic was met with “we have gin but no tonic;” when we shifted to ask for Chardonnay, they pointed to a drink menu showing there was only one white wine available, which was Sauvignon blanc. Only two beers. No sparkling wine. The experience was not at all what we usually get there. It’s temporary, but we were not pleased that we weren’t told about this in advance. We understand when work needs to be done, we just want to know so we can make an informed choice about whether to choose another place.
