Welcome to Sushi Passion, the home of sushi in Birmingham. From humble beginnings in Birmingham’s market we’ve been in The Great Western Arcade since 2014 offering a truly traditional Japanese sushi bar experience, recognised by the All Japan Sushi Association for Authenticity.

If you arrive later than 15 minutes for your booking, without letting us know, your table may be given to another party.

When booking a table, please be aware that half of our restaurant consists of Traditional Japanese tatami seating on to which you might be assigned if you don't specify seating preference.

The food was stupendous, very well balanced and felt superbly nutritious, The staff were incredibly well-spoken and polite, we were in a rush and they were incredibly accommodating food came out very quickly. The ambiance was very well suited to our taste, with a little bit of a buzz with some tranquil Japanese music not too invasive but gave the place some life, low tables were a nice touch adding to the culture and experience and the decoration was very fitting Would highly recommend, 2 roll sets, a good helping of nigiri and some surf clams (very good for seafood lovers) with a drink each was only £91 left feeling full i think it was a very reasonable price for the quality of the food

The party roll is very good! The grilled eel was good but had too much sauce, sesame and matcha ice were were so yummy

Visited Sushi Passion on a special occasion, we booked a table for two in advance but got there early, nevertheless everything was ready for us. The newly refurbished restaurant is more spacious than before. Suzi the waitress was approachable and very courteous. We enjoyed the freshly brewed tea, sushi and hand rolls. The background music was traditionally Japanese. Will recommend anyone to pop by if they are looking for something special and somewhere relaxing to dine.

Lovely little restaurant which is traditionally themed. Food is expensive but for Sushi prices about right. We thought we'd opt for the authentic kneeling down table. Which was great for the first 5 minutes but after that, it was just uncomfortable. Next time I'll go for a seat. Staff were friendly but did get our order wrong and attempted to charge us for food we didn't order. These things happen. In spite of that, I'd recommend the food and makes for a nice night out

Our fourth visit. Always first class food. This time the service was very poor. Told we'd reserved a table for 4 when it was clear on Open Table we'd reserved a table for 2. We ordered some cocktails and our food at the same time. The starter came first, then the main course and we then had to ask for the cocktails, the ginger, the wasabi, by which time we were wishing we hadn't bothered coming here. Throughout the meal we were attended to by a different waitress and all bar one disappeared leaving us with the one who really did need some service training. There was no offer of desert so we asked and were told two types of ice cream at £4 a scoop. We asked for the bill instead and spoke to a different waitress who took the money. She told us there was no manager available. Overall, outstanding food but we won't be back to sit down, we will get a take away from there.

We tried sitting on the mat seats and it was fun! We tried a platter for the first time and everything was amazing. Nice to try new things
