Sushi Kashiba is Seattle's destination for Japanese fine dining at its highest level. Located right next to historic Pike Place Market. Take a coveted seat at the Omakase sushi bar, where you just might find multi-James Beard Award nominated Chef Shiro Kashiba hard at work.

Ordering one of Sushi Kashiba's chef curated sushi dinners is probably your best bet. The cuts of salmon, toro, tuna, yellowtail and other fish are always fresh and beautifully presented. The meal is finished off with Sushi Kashiba's trademark cake-like egg dessert. The restaurant also features à la carte items like agedashi tofu, oysters on the half shell and Chef Kashiba's New York Times featured black cod kasuzuke.

Staff was great, Anthony an excellent server - the food was beautifully presented and delicious, BUT for the prices, the serving sizes were quite minimal. We are happy to not leave completely stuffed, but you went a little far with the restraint!

The food was fantastic, the service was great and not overbearing. The Saki was amazing. The best dining experience I have had in a long time.

Not only is it the best sushi restaurant in Seattle but one of the best restaurants period anywhere in the US. First, what other sushi restaurant dry ages certain cuts of fish? The fish melts in your mouth. And these are perfect size pieces that you can eat at once, perfect balance of taste. I know some people love huge pieces of nigiri that take two bites to eat. That’s not that this place… Omakase is like going to the opera. It’s a beautiful production, expertly directed, with so much drama and flair it’ll be one of the most memorable meals of your life. However not everyone is a fan of omakase and that’s okay because ordering a la carte is a lot of fun. It’s cool to see how they course out your selections and how they plate certain ones together and tell you the order of eating. Regardless of whether ordering the omakase or a la carte, I would highly recommend the tempura and the black cod. Both are too die for and great additions to the sushi. The service is outstanding and choreographed to the food expertly. You never have to ask for anything. The staff is so intuitive to your needs and wants. They understand changing dinnerware for courses and keeping your beverages flowing. Brandon is my favorite I would ask for him when making a reservation. And sometimes Shiro is there chatting with the customers—BONUS! One of my favorite places on the planet.

The chef’s counter omakase: Very good, but not great sushi. Those looking for top edomae-style sushi should go elsewhere. Fish quality was high but rice was not flavorful (frankly it was a little odd) and most nigiri were over-sauced. Far too many pieces were tataki - including a perfectly good scallop that really didn’t need three brushing of shoyu and a blowtorch to taste good. The matsutake soup was excellent.

Great food & service. Had the omakase & fish was fresh. Only complaint I would have was the variety of fish served. I like blue fin tuna but maybe not for 6 of the 15 nigiri /sushi pieces. Overall, it was great!

Always, always an amazing dining experience! The level of sushi dining must be among the best in the world. It is not an experience to miss! And the quality of staff and their attention cannot be higher.

We enjoyed the counter experience while celebrating our anniversary. The food, service and special attention was top notch. Exactly what we were looking for and Bravo for an excellent experience.
