We are devoted regulars, first and foremost because of the staff (from busboys to front of house Alex and Mohammed and our very favorite waiter, Austin), now more like family, all of whom authentically strive to please and deliver the highest quality hospitality on the peninsula. Nothing stuffy for which we are grateful. The drinks are superb (and truly engineered for consistency) the food of course is excellent as is the ambience (sliders and Brussels sprouts among our favorites). Given the range of restaurants on the peninsula, we could probably patronize a wider range of places, but we so look forward to our Friday nights at Sur where we are known, appreciated, pampered and well fed.

We rarely dine out but decided to venture out locally. Wrong restaurant choice. After waiting 15 minutes to see anyone we flagged down a waiter who informed us we were not his table but would find our waiter. He did come but v unprofessional. We should have left. Ordered burgers to be safe. Ha! Undercooked with. Old wilted lettuce and cold fries. Won’t be back

The fish and chips was over cooked. We asked for a replacement and it took a very long time to come… we canceled the order but still they charged 50% for it… the waiter was good but the manager didn’t help much

Austin, our server was great. The food not so much. I went with the NY pepper steak on server’s recommendation. Terrible on all accounts. Could not eat the steak, mashed potatoes (that’s really difficult to mess up) veggies. I ate the 4-5 green beans, as I was so hungry, but they weren’t great. My husband’s “southern” fried chicken was definitely NOT that. Mediocre at best, and not southern. I let them know about my disappointment in the food that I obviously had not eaten. They gave me 50% discount on THAT plate. Extremely overpriced for the low quality food they provide. I wish I had went elsewhere, and had a great meal for the price I paid for a terrible one. Needless to say, we will NOT be back to SUR at the Barnyard. 😡

Sur at The Barnyard in Carmel offers a wonderful dining experience with its great ambiance and delicious food. Our server, Grant, was exceptional—knowledgeable, attentive, and went above and beyond by offering us fantastic tips on places to visit and things to do in Carmel. His service truly elevated our experience. Highly recommend!

Sur’s is one of our favorite restaurants. The food from the appetizers to the entrees are delicious. Plus, a wide variety of choices. Service is fantastic. Drinks are refilled without having to ask. Empty dishes cleared all throughout the meal. Our waiter was very personable & helpful. Always a pleasure to dine at Sur’s.

Ordered the Chicken Marsala and the Steak Sandwich, the steak sandwich was very good and well prepared as usual, however the sauce for the chicken was rather pasty and seemed to be missing the Marsala wine. Though the chicken came out a bit charred on a couple of edges the food in this dish was at best barely warm.
