Dina and Steve Samson are on the Westside with Superfine Playa - a California osteria serving light and bright Italian highlighting fresh, local produce and true California vibes. Located at Silicon Beach’s Runway Playa Vista, the duo will offer a full-service dining experience, opening with dinner and weekend brunch.
Superfine Playa features house-made pastas, wood-grilled meats and fish, and dishes highlighting seasonal produce. There is also a full-service bar with craft cocktails and a curated wine list, which focuses on family growers and winemakers. We are open daily for happy hour and dinner and brunch on weekends. Soon, we will also serve a hybrid NY and Neapolitan-style pizza made famous by Steve at Superfine Pizza in Downtown LA.

We have visited several times. The food is great. We had a larger party (7) this time and the normal excellent service broke down . Think more a problem in the kitchen than our server. No matter, we’ll be back as we enjoy this place very much!

The food at Superfine was exactly like the name says. Every dish we ordered for our group of six was memorable. The pizzas were spectacular. Unfortunately the kitchen did not seem to be staffed correctly for a busy Saturday night, so we had to wait more than a half hour for our appetizers and more than an hour for our entrees. Our server was apologetic, but nothing was done to compensate us for the delays. Next time I’ll go on a less busy night.

Food was delicious. The service was friendly and fast. And we were able to sit out on the patio with our pup.

This is the second time I have visited this restaurant. The service is great from the greeter, the server, bus boy, management.... everyone is so friendly and happy to be there. The food is stellar and it came out fast. The ambience is nice and open with a view of the outdoors. Perfect place to meet friends or come with family.

Great menu with variety of apps and dishes. different preparation on many than what is the norm but all really good. Upscale italian at mid level pricing which is a pleasure. Foccacia is superb. worth getting. New pizza is also a winner. More of a NY style with wood burning char the dough has a great flavor. The toppings and cheese are also high quality. service was great. a bit noisy inside but outside is great. However some of the outdoor seats are hard metal and not comfortable at all. Hope they can fix that with some cushions or new chairs.

Our first visit to SuperFine Playa was just ok. The shaved kale & brussels sprout salad was the best part of the meal. I had the Mafaldine Bolognese, it was very bland & I only ate a little bit. My spouse also tried it & agreed it had no flavor. My spouse had the Rigatoni & requested chicken to be added to the pasta. His came with a whole chicken breast on top of the pasta instead of being cut up and tossed with the pasta. However, our waitress was very good and when I mentioned that the bolognese was very bland, she came back and said the chef agreed and as a result, they comped the bolognese dish.

Disappointing experience. Went for DineLA. The little gem salad was great and a generous portion, but then it was downhill from there. First, I was asked to change seats at the bar to accommodate another party. Excuse me, you sat me at my seat at the bar then you ask me to move during my meal? Not great. They tried to apologize by bringing me a scoop of ice cream, not realizing that I hadn’t been served my entree yet. Not great. Got the eggplant Parmesan as my entree. It was more like a lasagna. Just OK. Then I had to wait over half an hour for my dine LA included desert. I was clearly an afterthought as a single at the bar. Nothing about the experience would make me want to return.

We got the LA Dine week special and it was mouthwatering! The seafood salad starter as well as the Sweet Corn & Crespelle entree were amazing. Also, if you are adventurous, try the Garlic Knotini, a martini with - you guessed it - garlic in it 😊
