Sunset Food and Wine is a modern bistro which overlooks the beautiful American Beach. It was the first and only restaurant on Kangaroo Island to be awarded one Chef Hat from the Australian Good Food Guide in 2017 which it maintains today.

My husband & I thoroughly enjoyed the meal we had at Sunset Food & Wine. The menu was amazing, the service was impeccable and the setting is second to none with wonderful views across the water. We would recommend the dining experience to all who visit Kangaroo Island.

A magical evening with magnificent views including the sunset and kangaroos grazing on the property. Lovely ambiance and fantastic food highlighting KI’s local produce. We opted for the degustation menu and hubby has not stopped raving about the flavours and love put into the cooking. A very special experience.

We had the loveliest experience at Sunset Food and Wine. Given the incredible view and the fact that there aren’t too many restaurants on the island, restaurants would be forgiven for offering an average experience. However, from booking (when they accommodated a last minute request for a table with a view to celebrate an engagement and advised us to come a little earlier to view the sunset) to their changing up a recipe to fit a vegetarian ask, the entire meal was lovely, the wine was great and the service flawless (even when we fought over who would pay the bill). Would wholeheartedly recommend a visit, and on warmer days the tables on the veranda have the most beautiful view of the sunset.

Sunset Food and Wine on Kangaroo Island was recommended by a friend and we will definitely recommend too. Our table of 4 are fromSydbey and have dined at first class restaurants. The food was first class and the 3 chefs went out of their way to accommodate one of our party with food intolerances, substituting dishes where necessary. We had the $95 a head Feed Me tasting menu. Excellent value and enough food for all of us. The waitress we had was attentive but never intrusive and made us feel very welcome. The sunset view and ambience of the restaurant were also breathtaking. 5 out of 5👏

Perfect location and innovative food. Locally sourced food of course but only 2 ? Kangaroo Island wines. We are acutely aware of air miles of bringing French wines into one of the world’s best wine areas. Charming staff and the food was perfect. Thank you
