    Excellent setting and to get to. Great welcome and service. Ran out of both my main and dessert choices at 8.30pm on a weekday. But enjoyed our meals and wine.

    Excellent restaurant in prime location with great views. Well maintained premises with excellent and attentive staff. Great menu at competitive prices, with generous portions. Reasonably priced wine. Would definitely recommend this restaurant, and we will be visiting it again whenever we ar in the area.

    Don’t eat here if you want good service. Food on a good day is good, on a bad day totally unacceptable. In the past was one of my favourite restaurants, now I only go because my regular visitors like it. Next time they can go on their own. There were 5 of us, 4 chose to eat from the speedy (?) seafood menu (45 minutes wait for dessert. the other person wanted fish and chips, ordered from the main menu and was told he couldn’t have prawn cocktail because you can’t mix menus, the main menu has hot smoked salmon with the prawn starter, which he doesn’t like, so he had no starter. Dessert, 1 coffee arrived within 5 minutes, it took 45 minutes for the other 4 desserts to be served. The reason given there were 60 people in the cafe downstairs who had to be served before us. By this time we were the only people in the restaurant. I regret to say that last month was not much better. 75th birthday celebration and my husband sent his main course back. Affogato, worst ever, I small scoop of ice cream and watery coffee. Great venue, pity food and service at some point let them down.

    Booked a table for 3pm to celebrate my parents 40th wedding anniversary. We had got caught in slow traffic so were five minutes late. Upon our bottoms touching the chairs we were told we were only allowed “a few minutes to order” as the kitchen closed. At no point when having this booked for weeks was I contacted to say the kitchen closed. If taking a 3pm booking I would assume your kitchen is open for guests to peruse the menu and order as usual. I would’ve moved the booking time if I’d been made aware of this as it wasn’t a pleasant welcome to what was supposed to be a special occasion for our family. The food was nice but we sat with empty drinks for a long period and had to go and ask for more plus just a general feeling that we shouldn’t have been there because the kitchen was closed was uncomfortable. Whilst the food was good I wouldn’t rebook based on this experience, I’m really disappointed that I chose here for my parents special anniversary.

    Good Afternoon Siobhan I am sorry you didn't enjoyed your experience with us but please understand that you did book for 3pm and the last person to arrive at the table was 3.20pm so we did ask very politely that we could have your order in quickly due to this! i am sorry you felt uncomfortable with this as when you booked on OpenTable when it sends out notification of your booking in the T&Cs it states that the table will only be held for 15min after reservation time , so once again i am sorry

    Very friendly and helpful staff in cafe and restaurant. Really delicious seafood lunch..we had mussels, scallops and sole. Desserts were great too.

    Wonderful elevated location overlooking the sea at Nairn. Pleasant surroundings and tastefully furnished. Service was good although did have to ask someone to take our order after sitting for some time and saw others being served before us. A little disappointed with the cauliflower and harissa with roasted garlic chickpea starter which was very small and a bit dried out for £9.00 but I liked the idea and the flavours in this dish. Roast vegetable Tian was very tasty, tantalising flavours as was the pork belly porchetta. Did not sample the desserts on this occasion. Despite these issues would still return again.

    The food was excellent in particular my main course of sea trout which was one of the best I have had in recent years.The table service was good with staff being attentive and polite. The surroundings were very pleasant with nice outlook. The only thing that was disappointing was that I had ordered flowers for our 26th Wedding anniversary and they were delivered to the wrong table for others to enjoy. I also had to repeatedly ask where the flowers were with staff who insisted mine had not been delivered . Eventually the manager realised the flowers had been delivered to the wrong table. This was after we had paid for our meal and as we were leaving. Disappointing end to what was a lovely meal.
