Inspired by a lifetime of culinary and culturally immersed travel throughout Southeast Asia, our owners developed the Sunda concept to celebrate the beautiful blend of cultures found on the Sunda Shelf, a landmass, today submerged under shallow seas, that was once surrounded by the many different countries and cultures we celebrate at Sunda today like Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, China and more.

At Sunda, we pride ourselves on taking classic, culturally-important dishes from all over this region and modernizing each one by upgrading ingredients, cooking techniques and presentation to create a tasting experience that is completely new while still retaining the deep-rooted spirit of the original.

Guests can also enjoy a beverage program that offers an impressive list of premium sakes, Asian beers, red, white and sparkling wines as well as seasonally inspired cocktails.

Nice waitress but terribly slow service. Food was bland. Noise level insane.

I booked days in advance only to find out we were seated at the sushi bar. I asked if we could be seated in a regular table and the hostess was not interested in helping us instead said no and left. Not recommending this to any of my friends!!!

Server was very good. Drinks over priced Oxtail potstickers were under cooked (dumpling skin not steamed enough and hard) Told server we were in a rush and asked that food come out quickly. We got everything but my husband’s food and then the server checked on it and we were already done but he didn’t eat yet. We had to leave by the time the food got to him. He rushed and ate a few bites but it was overly sweet and underwhelming. Although they took that off the bill. For the prices you charge and the fact that we left later than we should have we left very disappointed. I was 10 min late to the show as well because of this. Again, the server was fantastic BUT I was so looking forward to this and unfortunately feel like I spent a lot of money and left upset. I felt like it was a waste of hard earned money. Sorry to report!

We’ve been going to Sunda for over a decade. This location is not the same quality. Each dish was more disappointing than the previous. Maybe it was an off night in the kitchen but I will not be back.

Sunda’s new restaurant in the Fulton market area has a fantastic ambience, a wonderful vibe, and the same outstanding food and service as the original restaurant on Illinois Street.

It was our first time at the new location. The drinks and food were great and our server was kind at first, but all of the food was served way too fast. We received our first appetizer within 5mins of ordering and our drinks had not even been served yet. The rest of the food was served ridiculously fast too and not in a good way. We could hardly talk amongst ourselves without being interrupted. Our server also would not stop asking if we wanted anything else before finally bringing us the bill when we didn’t even ask for it. It was a very rushed dinner and overall felt disrespectful of our time and the money we spent to try and enjoy a nice dinner. Most likely will not come back unless it’s just for drinks at the bar.

Attended a dinner party of 10 despite the large group of number the service was spot on. Food was brought out in a timely manner. Quality of the food was great. One minor detail, my Mezcal old-fashioned was not consistent - first drink served with a large cube of ice as it should be but the rest that follow were served in regular ice cubes.
