Inspired by a lifetime of culinary and culturally immersed travel throughout Southeast Asia, our owners developed the Sunda concept to celebrate the beautiful blend of cultures found on the Sunda Shelf, a landmass, today submerged under shallow seas, that was once surrounded by the many different countries and cultures we celebrate at Sunda today like Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, China and more.

At Sunda, we pride ourselves on taking classic, culturally-important dishes from all over this region and modernizing each one by upgrading ingredients, cooking techniques and presentation to create a tasting experience that is completely new while still retaining the deep-rooted spirit of the original.

Guests can also enjoy a beverage program that offers an impressive list of premium sakes, Asian beers, red, white and sparkling wines as well as seasonally inspired cocktails.

Delicious food and energetic atmosphere! Recommend the Yellowfin Jalapeno sushi and don't sleep on the Gambler roll for your group (one piece on the revolving plate has hidden ghost pepper). I was the "winner/ loser" LOL

We had a reservation at 7:15 and we weren’t seated until 8. However the manager did compensate us with a round of drinks.

As usual, the food at Sunda was terrific! My guests who joined me really enjoyed the whole meal and experience. Kait Janek was, once again, a wonderful server. She's very friendly, helpful with food and drink options, and enthusiastic. This is why I always request Kait to be our server. Thank you.

After reading all the reviews, I wanted to give it a go. We are beyond disappointed to say the least. Hostess and management are all terrible and rude individuals. The management is messed up, everyone seems fake and not genuine. Save your money, go to a better restaurant in Chicago. Not worth all the hype it truly gets. Glad I know what I know now. Not thrilled to leave a negative comment but this establishment truly deserves this criticism.

Once again, Sunda hits it out of the park!! Incredible food and the space is just stunning. As for the staff, they couldn’t have been more welcoming. Bravo Sunda West Loop!!

Food was delicious, staff was very sweet. Our table was sat in the bar in a section where there was no server, we didn’t have a server for over 20 minutes. Server who took over was very attentive. Would go back, but was disappointed in service as this was my first time to the new Fulton market location.

Was very excited to try the new location. Food was terrific. Service was sub-par. For a Tuesday night, the dining room was very empty, so was shocked at how slow things moved. Bar staff didn’t approach us for 10 min, so we moved to the table. Server was slow once we got there. A total miss. Great ambiance though! Not dying to go back.
