Les chefs et partenaires Jeff Mahin et Francis Brennan du groupe Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises' apportent leur fameux concept au style californien, le Summer House Santa Monica, à Pike & Rose dans le North Bethesda, MD. Bring your little chefs to Summer House for Kids Pizza Making! Every Monday to Thursday from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, kids 12 and under can craft their own pizzas at the official pizza counter with our chefs for $7.95 plus tax (gratuity not included). Or opt for our tableside option, and have all the ingredients delivered to your table for the whole family to get in on the fun! Kids will wash their hands, use the flour to form the dough, spread their choice of red or white sauce, and build their zah with cheese and toppings of their choice. Once our team pops it in the oven, the pizza will be delivered back to your family’s table for an a-dough-able dinner. Please note, Kids Pizza Making is not offered during the weekend (Friday to Sunday).

AC was out of service on Saturday when it was 90 F degrees outside. We sweated thru our meal. Waiter said the hvac people were coming on Monday. You can get that service 24/7, if you are willing to pay for it. Question of priorities , I guess. The $25 crab dip special was very small and unremarkable. Otherwise, the shaved mushroom pizza was good, and a good value, as was the rigatoni (with meatball). Service was a bit slow, too, and not a full house. Just really turned off by the lack of AC...despite 3% service charge (Covid is over, dudes), and $300 tab for four.

Summer House is a beautiful restaurant-they nail the aesthetic. However, it’s never as good as I hope it to be. This visit, it was really hot in parts of the restaurant. We had a reservation, but they wanted to seat us outdoors (on a very hot, sunny day). We eventually were seated in main dining room. Our appetizers were forgotten (they did comp them-thank you!) but arrived after our entrees and only because we asked for them. Food was just so-so. Pasta sauce had a weird flavor. Drinks were pretty good with a nice selection of both cocktails and mocktails. Deviled eggs were underwhelming. The star of the restaurant is the cookie bar in the lobby. Delicious fresh cookies the size of your head. I recommend this place for drinks to soak up the ambiance followed by cookies!

We sat for 15-20 minutes outside before someone came over to us. When she did, there was no introduction - she was very short (polite enough, but short.) The food was mediocre at best. The best part of this restaurant is the ambiance.

With reservation and request for indoor seating, upon arrival we were informed no table is available 😳 fortunately weather was nice and we were seated outside next to the driveway to the parking lot! I wonder what was the use of reservation ???

Terrible service, mediocre food and it was cold and overpriced. They forgot my child’s meal and did nothing to compensate for it.
