Les chefs et partenaires Jeff Mahin et Francis Brennan du groupe Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises' apportent leur fameux concept au style californien, le Summer House Santa Monica, à Pike & Rose dans le North Bethesda, MD. Le Summer House présente une atmosphère décontractée et conviviale qui rappelle celle du "Golden State", ainsi qu'un décor de maison de plage. Le menu créé sous la conduite du chef présente des plats simples artisanaux préparés avec des ingrédients de source locale et de saison, dont la plupart est cuisinée sur un grill au feu de bois. Bring your little chefs to Summer House for Kids Pizza Making! Every Monday to Thursday from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM, kids 12 and under can craft their own pizzas at the official pizza counter with our chefs for $7.95 plus tax (gratuity not included). Or opt for our tableside option, and have all the ingredients delivered to your table for the whole family to get in on the fun! Kids will wash their hands, use the flour to form the dough, spread their choice of red or white sauce, and build their zah with cheese and toppings of their choice. Once our team pops it in the oven, the pizza will be delivered back to your family’s table for an a-dough-able dinner. Please note, Kids Pizza Making is not offered during the weekend (Friday to Sunday).

Food and service were amazing! We had a slight hiccup but both management and our server fixed it immediately. Highly recommend for Sunday brunch!

Dinner reservation for 3 at 7:15 pm on a saturday night. not too busy so was seated upon arrival. our waitress took our order and then didn’t see her until we were 90% done with our dinner. we were hoping to get extra tartar sauce and drink refills but she was missing. i could understand if the restaurant was crazy busy but no excuses for the inattentive service. use the qr code payment from our table to pay the bill, and i had to laugh when it automatically applied 25% tip.

No server ever came over to take our order. After 10 minutes a manager noticed we had not been greeted and brought water. After another 10 minutes had passed, I flagged the manager again and asked if he would take our order as we still had not been greeted by a server. The manager took our order and left. We never saw a server until our food was brought to our table. After dropping off the food we were again ignored. At the end the meal I flagged the manager again and asked him if he thought this was acceptable. He said absolutely not and he said he should have checked up on us. At no time did he offer to buy us a drink or offer a dessert. Instead he said next time he would wait on us from start to finish. This was a poor response and very unprofessional. We won’t be back.

Today I had lunch at Summer House Santa Monica, and it was a fantastic experience! The atmosphere is bright and inviting, making it a perfect spot to catch up with friends. I ordered the Costa Mesa salad, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were fresh and perfectly balanced, with great attention to detail. The service was friendly and attentive, and my friends and I felt very well taken care of. I highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to visit again!

We enjoyed a 3 hour birthday luncheon for party of 6 on a very rainy weekday. The service was friendly, attentive, and thoughtful. We had appetizers, entrees, and several desserts. We made the meal family style and the staff was very accommodating bringing extra plates and silverware. The food was excellent. The Baby back ribs were a standout among the entrees as well as the Cobb Salad. All the appetizer and desserts were delicious. Although, it is Xmas season, not a standout Xmas ambiance, however it still lovely California, airy feel. We’ve loved Summer House since their opening several years ago, they have been consistent with high quality food and well trained staff. Always solid choice in Pike & Rose neighborhood.

The restaurant is attractive and comfortable. I ordered the special bay scallop dish. I should have known there bay scallops were small, which I don’t like, my mistake. But the $46 price for that dish is not commensurate with the value of the food. Also the beef pairing was odd with the scallops. I didn’t like it. The jalapeño corn bread was great. Others like their fried chicken and tacos. The restaurant is attractive and comfortable.

The food was good as it always is. They kindly turned down the music which was way too loud for people to be able to converse at lunch. The major drawback was that it was freezing. I never took off my coat. And I saw many others with their coats on as well.

We’ve tried this restaurant twice and honestly, I think we are done. The interior is lovely. The food is good but service is slow and not personal. The prices are too high. For many items(salad, pasta, etc.) you have to pay extra for any type of protein. When a pasta or salad is $20 it should come with protein.
