Jeff Mahin et Francis Brennan,chefs et partenaires du groupe Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, apportent au Lincoln Park de Chicago, en Illinois, leur concept populaire de style californien, le Summer House Santa Monica. Les clients trouveront dans ce restaurant une ambiance conviviale et décontractée, un décor qui rappelle la Californie - celle qu'on surnomme le Golden State - et des ornements inspirés d'une maison de plage. Bring your little chefs to Summer House for Kids Pizza Making! Every Monday to Thursday from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, kids 12 and under can craft their own pizzas at the official pizza counter with our chefs for $7.95 plus tax (gratuity not included). Or opt for our tableside option, and have all the ingredients delivered to your table for the whole family to get in on the fun! Kids will wash their hands, use the flour to form the dough, spread their choice of red or white sauce, and build their zae with cheese and toppings of their choice. Once our team pops it in the oven, the pizza will be delivered back to your family’s table for an a-dough-able dinner. Please note, Kids Pizza Making is not offered during the weekend (Friday to Sunday).

On Wednesday, October 2 and Thursday, October 3, celebrate Rosh Hashanah with a holiday-inspired Prix Fixe at Summer House! The menu includes Challah Bread, Chopped Liver, Gefilte Fish, and Matzo Ball Soup alongside your choice of Grilled Loch Duart Salmon, Slow-Braised Beef Short Rib, or Wood-Grilled Chicken Breast as your entree. For dessert, enjoy the Apple Galette. The holiday menu is available from 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM for $54.95 per guest, and $24.95 for children 12 & younger (plus tax, gratuity not included). Holiday reservations are required, and can be made here or by calling Summer House - Lincoln Park at (773) 634-4100. Be sure to mention your interest in the holiday menu!

It was the weirdest and worst service here I’ve experienced in a while. Typically after getting seated, SH service does take a couple of minutes to get over to your table and get things moving. We were left for 10 minutes+ I finally got up and went to the host stand and we were told it was due to a shift change, okay fine. As a host, I wouldn’t have sat a new table in an area that was undergoing a shift change where the waiter wasn’t on the floor. Furthermore, it still took a few minutes for our server to get to us. The host also mentioned there was a happy hour / martini hour but didn’t grab the menu outlining the menu so the waiter (he finally got to us) dropped the menu and left again. We place our drink orders and food orders. Our mains weren’t dropped until well after the appetizer (fries for the table) were finished off and cleared from the table. Other times I’ve been here, food service is usually fairly smooth. My order was no issue, but my fiance ordered the happy hour burger without sauce. Unfortunately we sent it back because sauce was added. Furthermore it took a full 15 minutes for his order to be fixed for a smash burger with cheese. Usually orders that are sent back and rushed and there was zero sense of urgency. The final oddity was when we finally paid, the waiter ran my card and returned the billfold without my credit card. I was trying to track down someone! to grab my card for a good 3-4 minutes before a bar back ran it over. Overall I expect service to be a little on the slower side based on past experiences here but this was just truly bizarre!

Gorgeous setting for a lunch. Seating on the bench is a little tight but food and service was fantastic. Highly recommend, would be perfect for lunch, girls day, showers etc

I’m a gold member and once again leave another Lettuce restaurant disappointed. The wait to just get waters was long than some other tables were greeted and orders taken. Our server disappeared for large chunks of time and we couldn’t get fresh plates so we just go up can grabbed them from expo ourselves. What’s even more insulting is the 3.5% fee added to every bill - especially when the service quality is declining.

We had an excellent lunch at Summer House for my son's 6th birthday. We chose Summer House because on its kids menu or says all of the items on it can be made gluten free. My kid struggles sometimes with not being able to eat what he wants and it is such a treat to be able to tell him to pick anything. He chose two kids meals and enjoyed a feast of chicken fingers and chocolate chip pancakes. At the end of the meal they brought him a gf chocolate chip cookie with a candle in it. He was such a happy camper. No upcharges for the gf items either! Service was excellent! My cocktail was fantastic. It was a treat for me to have a gf crispy chicken sandwich and it was lovely. My husband had the green chili breakfast burrito and loved every bite. My mother in law had the Mexican hash and practically licked her plate clean. Everything was terrific and wonderfully affordable! We cannot wait to go back again.

Great location on a nice day overlooking the river. Trains pass often which is either urban ambiance or or loud interrupitons. Food is good, limited brunch menu.

We waited quite a while for our table despite having a reservation. We then waited over an hour for our food. My kid’s food finally arrived but the waiter said my husband and my order had gotten lost. We eventually had to take the food to go because my kids were getting antsy. The food was good once we finally got it but it just wasn’t a great experience overall. I did like the overall ambiance and decor.

I adore this restaurant. Though I am disappointed that the bacon is so expensive and not the same quality. That may as well been bacon from a pack. Other than that, I enjoyed it. Really came through for my mom’s birthday!

Last night I visited Summer House for a dinner to celebrate my friend's birthday. From the minute we checked in at the hostess stand, my friend was made to feel special. Everyone who served us wished her a happy birthday and our server brought out a delicious dessert with a candle at the end of the meal. The food and ambience were wonderful (as always). We will be back!
