I’ve eaten here about a half-dozen times. It has been about a year since my last visit. The place has definitely deteriorated since my last meal there. One of our drinks was forgotten. My martinis were full of ice fragments (buy the bartender a strainer, please!) My $79 dry aged strip was totally flavorless. I do mean totally. It was shocking. The Béarnaise sauce that several of us ordered was semi-solid on top, with a pool of melted butter underneath. The asparagus risotto was good, as was the bread. For the price, though, that’s simply not good enough. There are better options for a good steak in Pittsburgh. I’ll be availing myself those going forward.

The food was mediocre and overpriced. The sides were better than the entree. The server was new, and made it abundantly known. Trust me, he didn’t have to tell us. It’s a nice enough restaurant, but not worth almost $300 for three people. For those keeping score, only three alcoholic beverages were had. Thankfully, I had great company, and we had a fantastic time. Frankly, we could have done that at Primanti. Do yourself a favor, keep scrolling to something better.

The service was great. Both the person who greeted me and the server were pleasant and welcoming. I opted for the business lunch with the wedge salad, Delmonico and Brussels sprouts, which were all very good. The portion size was perfect. I would definitely return to this place.

This Sunday luncheon was a special occasion and the staff, especially our waiter, William, did everything possible to accommodate us. The restaurant is elegant and is a gem hidden on the first floor of the UPMC, formerly U.S. Steel, Tower. Every person in our party found a dish that was delicious. Another guest and I tried their signature cocktails - the Knockout, and I was blown away by the Smoked Rosemary & Orange Old Fashioned. Desserts, including Bananas Foster Bread Pudding, received rave reviews. Altogether a delightful experience.

We sat down at 5, and ordered drinks which arrived at 6 with our meals. We all ordered a starter. The soup was delivered (cold) and not the salads until right before the meal. Two of us were splitting a steak. It arrived cut into small slices, cold. One steak ordered medium well arrived medium rare. The sides were very good. The server told the manager that we weren’t happy and he nicely came to our table and we discussed our issues. He said that he was new, the restaurant is understaffed, and that he would adjust our bill. He didn’t and at that point we didn’t have time to pursue getting the bill changed. Very disappointed.
