What a wonderful place and walking distance to Campus Martius. It was a perfect night spend on a first date. Diego our server was fantastic and we literally had amazing dinner (food was great). By the way my date truly loved the place (a lot thanks you from her) and we will definitely will be back.

Beautiful restaurant and outstanding service! Our waiter was great! fillet was cooked the perfect perfection! If you like smoky old-fashioned, this is your place!

Diago was our server, he was very attentive and friendly. We had the Tomahawk steak for 2 which came with 2 lobster tails. I pair lobster a lot with my steak and this lobster was the best I’ve had any of the steakhouses we’ve been. Highly recommend!!!

Great food. Long wait for food from the kitchen. Server was amazing. I’m editing my review to say the wait for food was due to a full restaurant following a Lions game but the wait was worth it.

First off, what fine dining establishment in a large city does not valet? Sullivan’s. How inconvenient as we had not planned the time to seek another parking option, let alone on the evening of a home Lions game. Just know, valet is only for Westin hotel guests. Personally, I wanted to just forget our reservation at Sullivan’s and eat closer to where we parked, but my husband wanted to honor our reservation. Bad choice. Once inside, we noticed the place was just about empty except for people sitting at the bar watching the Lions game, and those seated at 3 (out of about 15) tables. Even though we had a reservation we were offered either a seat at the bar if we wanted to see the tv or in their back room (where there was not one other soul.) When we asked why we could not sit at a table with the other 3 diners they said there were no servers in those areas. So we chose a bar seat (and then noted a few servers off to the side just hanging out with nothing much to do.) We had a very nice bartender (Marcus??) wait on us, and If I had had the nerve I would have asked the one other bartender who regularly came around to check his body odor at the door. His hygiene should have been noted by management, but I can’t say that we ever saw anyone that looked like a manager there. After we received our drinks and ordered the tuna app we were amazed to hear that at 5:30 pm they were out of bread so no bread basket. Wow. Fine dining? On the plus side, all the food was very good and our steak was cooked beautifully. Just one last pitfall for us, the bathroom in the restaurant has seen far better days. The walls were really filthy as were the accessories. No one is cleaning well by any means. We will never go back.

We really wanted to love this dining experience as we have a Sullivan’s back in NC and it’s one of our favorite restaurants. However, from the minute we walked in it was clear the restaurant was not held to the same standard as the one we are used to. Our reservation was at 6:30 and we did not get seated until 6:50. Once we were finally seated, we asked to order drinks. However we didn’t have cocktail menus or a wine list. We ordered drinks and it took 10 minutes for the first round to come out, but then one of our drinks didn’t show up for 20 minutes. Everything was slow, which I understand happens sometimes on busy nights, but the servers didn’t come to the table repeatedly and often we were flagging servers down for refills on water and our drinks from the bar. The food itself was great, but the overall experience was not what you would expect from a Sullivan’s, especially not for the price point of the food. We were disappointed.

The ambience was delightful. Our server, Jessica, was extremely polite, attentive, and professional. A few concerns about the food: The Chilean sea bass dish was a bit salty. The shrimp with crab were overcooked and therefore not tasty. Asparagus risotto was delicious. Brussels sprouts were unusual because I am used to crispy brussels sprouts and the sprouts were soft and a bit soggy. The red wine list only included California wines by the glass which is unfortunate. We were in the back room a slight distance from the live music which was very nice and added to the evening. It is a little pricey.

Absolutely fantastic dinner experience at the bar. The bartenders were absolutely amazing!! We had a filet and the Chilean sea bass, and it was exceptional!
