Best Italian in Tuscaloosa. Much better than DePalma’s. Portions were good. Bruschetta and toasted ravioli were good appetizers. Had the Chicken Parm that was a good portion and flavorful.

Eggplant was frozen in the middle and hard on the edges. Microwaved from the freezer. Service was slow. Very disappointed.

Amazing night. Food was fantastic. The owner even brought over a special dessert for my wife since it was her birthday. Will definitely be back.

Great and knowledgeable staff. Food was delicious and portions generous. I had the pasta primavera with salmon. Everything prepared excellently. If I find myself back in town it’s going to be my go to restaurant!

Food and service were SO GREAT!! Weird vibes tho- alllll of the lights were on and the tables and chairs felt like a pizza joint not the typical white table cloth Italian vibe.

Between myself and the two other patrons I came with, we all ordered pasta as part of our dish. We each tasted each other's dishes. Firstly, the kitchen was very stingy about the sauce. In fact, I had to ask for more pomodoro sauce for my noodles, it was too dry. The ratio between noodles and sauce needs tweaking. Second, just coming back from Italy a year ago and making Italian dishes myself, all 3 dishes were lacking flavor. I could not taste any garlic for one. The chicken for the Chicken Marsala was on the dry side. Maybe we came on a bad night, but I do want Sugo to succeed as I think Tuscaloosa needs more authentic Italian dining. I hope this helps.

Thank you for the notes! I believe this was an off night for our kitchen. We have been able to get fully staffed and trained recently. We hope that you will give us another chance soon! We do have many people tell us that there is too much sauce on our pastas and we are working to find the balance in them.

It was a really fun night. The food was great. Super slow due to circumstances 5)they couldn't help. But the compensated with excellent care. I was impressed with them customizing my dish without it being a fuss.

Unfortunately, we were told that they were shortstaffed and we completely understood. We waited for a while. However, when people who came in after us in ordered after us or served twice. We were concerned. They had come to our table with food and it wasn’t our food so they took it to the right table. we started to think our order had been lost. The manager apologized and did bring our food after we had been there with reservations for an hour and 10 minutes after ordering. She offered 10% off which we thought was minimal given the first experience
