At Half Moon Resort we are committed to sourcing locally grown and seasonal produce. The Sugar Mill Restaurant is as historic as it is iconic. You will be overcome by a sense of awe as you enter the former Running Gut Estate. It is nestled in an alcove beside a 17th century water mill. You can feel the history within the existing walls that once served as the foundation of a sugar cane plantation dating back to 1676.

Very quiet and calm. Kind and patient staff. AMAZING food; I recommend the jerk short rib and Waygu tapas.

Hands down the best service I have ever received across any industry in any country and I’ve travelled to many. As a local, not every time you will receive the same level of service a tourist gets but this establishment is different. I went there with my family of 3 for my girlfriend’s 30th birthday. From the moment we arrived to the moment we sat down, we felt received and cared for. Words cannot describe the service provided by our server Daniel. We felt like he could read minds actually 😅. He knew when to intervene and how to make everything convenient and serve our every need even if we didn’t speak. I feel like we didn’t even need to speak at all and we would still get a 10/10 service. Everyone can learn something from him including myself. The atmosphere is also relaxing. Jamaica’s finest.

From getting picked up at the hotel to walking out the door to return, everything was 5 Stars. Clement, our driver, was funny and super knowledgeable about the property. We were greeted 3x on the wall in, and shown to our table by the extremely friendly and welcoming Samantha. Our servers were great, especially Daniel. The ambience, property, food were beyond expectations. The dips to start were delicious, our seafood sampler was spectacular. My wife had the salmon and scallops and thought it was one of the best meals she's ever had. My jerk short rib, Daniel's recommendation, was phenomenal. They remembered our anniversary and brought out a complimentary dessert with a decorated plate. Next visit, I would set an earlier time to appreciate the property in the daylight.

My experience was awesome my family and I had a wonderful time. Service was excellent the food well presented and delicious, Tamika gave us excellent service and we would recommend people to dine at Sugar Mill Restaurant.

We came to dine on our first night at the Resort and while the ambiance was lovely, our services was not so. There were only 2 of us and after an hour and a half we finally received our salad. The restaurant was not crowded at all, other were seated well after us and served well before us. Our server just seemed indifferent to our requests on the timing of our meal etc. It was a shame, we witnessed other tables served by lively attentive servers.
