Before Stuft Pizza gained recognition as a top restaurant in Palm Desert, and La Quinta, Jack Bertram and his wife, Pat, launched the first Stuft Pizza in Cerritos, California in 1976. After nearly 9 months of experimenting, Jack developed the recipe for the now beloved pizza. Despite initially offering only take-out pizza, the store's unwavering commitment to quality propelled its success. Two years later, Jack and Pat opened a second store in Whittier, and in 1986, Stuft Pizza transitioned into a franchise.

While franchisee-owned outlets operate outside the Coachella Valley, the Stuft Pizza Bar & Grill locations in the desert, both owned by the Bertram Family, are distinct. Since 2004 in La Quinta and 2014 in Palm Desert, we have been proud fixtures in the desert, boasting expanded menus, full bars, full service, HD TVs, and an exceptional wine list.

Had an RSVP, got sat down and the gentlemen who sat us was nice when he greeted us. Once we got sat down. We waited about 5 min… no one showed up. Finally a bald tattooed tends to a table near us who has already gotten their food. He then passes our table, a couple then gets seated and the same waiter immediately goes to them and asks if they knew what they wanted to drink or if they would like waters. At this point 10 or more minutes had gone by that we had been sat down and no one approached us. After the couple asked for water he then passes our table and stated he would be right back. He gives the waters to the couple, passed us again. Nothing stated to us at that point. He then goes back to the other table with the couple and proceeds to ask if they are ready to order. This point almost 20 minutes and no one even acknowledged is besides the one time he stated he would be right with us and never came back. We got up and left.

We go there quite often. The food is delicious and the menu is quite extensive, so everybody can have whatever they want and they’re happy. The Happy Hour menu can’t be beat and if you get a booth, they’re very comfortable. The servers always accommodate you. It’s just a great place to hang out.

We enjoyed the prime rib special in the dining area. The service was good, but the noise level from the bar area was fairly high. Next time we’ll ask to be seated farther away from the bar.

A nice evening was had by all. The service was great. The food was good. It was right before closing and they didn’t rush us even though we were the last to finish. They really earned a generous tip.

Our Server was incredible. ( ?? Sasha) The best pizza so far in the Coachella valley. And I moved from Chicago, the pizza capital of the country.

Long time favorite. Busy the evening we were there and pretty noisy. Normally enjoy their Happy Hour which features some very good deals on food/wine/beer. Two of us ordered pizza and were disappointed. Normally served with a very warm to hot metal service plate, but last evening served on a dinner dish that was room temperature. The pizzas appeared to have sat on the kitchen counter prior to being served. Crust was soft/mushy and pizza overall warm at best. They can do better based on our previous visits.

Prime Rib was underwhelming, Tune Melt was very good. Restaurant was very noisy and very busy with large families in late afternoon.
