Le Story est un restaurant américain contemporain situé dans le centre commercial The Village à Prairie Village, dans l'État du Kansas, à 10 minutes au sud-ouest du Missouri's Country Club Plaza de Kansas City.
Le restaurant propose des plats américains créatifs, élaborés à partir de produits locaux et de saison par le chef Carl Thorne-Thomsen. Demi-finaliste du prix James Beard en 2013 pour le Meilleur Chef du Midwest, il a été récompensé en 2014 par le magazine FOOD & WINE, pour le prix du Meilleur Nouveau Chef National élu par le public.
En outre, le Story comporte une salle à manger confortable, un patio et un bar doté de tabourets. Le souper est servi du mercredi au dimanche, de 17h00 à 22h00.

Upon arrival to Story we noticed a very strong smell in the restaurant similar to witch hazel. It was so overwhelming that we almost left. Our server said it was due to the candles on tables, which seems like an odd choice for a fine dining restaurant. Our meals were both just okay. I was pretty disappointed with our overall experience given Story’s reputation and price point.Cet avis est-il utile ?

I've been dining at Story since it first opened - too long ago for me to remember. I have never, not once, had a bad meal there. During the first COVID days I'd order a meal from there and pick it up outside to take home. Their bread is fantastic and so good that one can eat too much of it before the main course if not careful. I love the simple, but large green salad and wonderful dressing. I love the fried chicken available on Wednesday nights and many of their other choices on other nights. The short ribs are another favorite . The restaurant is a beautiful place and during warm months, outside seating is also available. It is an expensive place to dine, but I have never been disappointed in the food, the service or the ambiance.Cet avis est-il utile ?

Food was quite salty. Since we had wine bill was quite high, but we expected that. Nice, but not as good as Cafe Provence, for example. Nothing special for birthdays, either.Cet avis est-il utile ?

I have heard a lot of good about Story so decided to try it for our 35th wedding anniversary. What a mistake! It started with a rude hostess when we asked about the possibility of an outside seat. Next was the gas smell at our table, with the awesome view of the parking lot. The heirloom tomato appetizer was so salty it was inedible. We then had to send the risotto back twice as the risotto and the shrimp were both too salty. They took it off the bill but not the appetizer. They said they were sorry and they would tell the chef. Anyway, the night was a complete bust. Maybe they were trying a new chef out or it was just a bad night.Cet avis est-il utile ?
