STIR is the perfect restaurant to sip a craft cocktail over a dozen oysters, enjoy a night out, or meet for lunch. Located in the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo complex, the restaurant is an open-air concept with a large, heated outdoor patio. We are open for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.

Great food starts with fresh, local ingredients. Our kitchen prepares everything from scratch, and our signature raw bar is stocked with fresh oysters and seasonal seafood.

STIR is famous for craft cocktails. We freeze and carve 300-pound blocks of artisanal ice in-house, age certain cocktails in oak barrels for richer flavors, and place others on draft for crispness and carbonation. The result: categorically elevated cocktails. Our passion for fine spirits also compels us to find and share rare bottles, many of which are extremely difficult to procure.

Our overall experience and the food absolutely made it worth the visit, but the service was pretty lacking. In our reservation I listed that we were there celebrating my wife’s birthday and the host made no mention of it at all when he checked us in for our reservation. It was then probably 15 minutes of sitting at the table before our waitress greeted us for the first time and offered to take our drink order. We had to keep setting our empty glasses at the end of our table so she’d see that we needed something because she didn’t otherwise check in on us at all. This was at 5:30 so it was definitely before things got busy in the restaurant. All that to say, she WAS very kind and everything else about our experience would make it worth coming back. Could’ve just been an off day for her! I will say, the 4 layer cake they brought out for her birthday was pretty sad looking. Dry strawberry slices, small and jaggedly cut piece of cake, weird mound of whipped cream.. pic included below. We both had the Steak Frites meal for our dinner though and it was 👌🏼 worth coming just for that! Perfectly cooked steak and Parmesan truffle fries were killer.

Patient waitress let us talk and talk without interrupting, before we finally ordered. Everyone very pleasant, helpful and welcoming. Food fresh and delish.

Wonderful server Sarah S. who was very accommodating to dietary needs and working with the kitchen to keep us informed of measures taken. Burger was good….very juicy! Special of shrimp and steak was excellent. Not too full on Sunday early dinner so service was excellent. Will definitely return!

Fun place with very good food. I had the Ahi Tuna poke bow, which was delicious. Wasabi and a poke sauce on the side would have taking it up a notch. I also had a glass of the Bonanza Cabernet Sauvignon, which is delicious for the price. I enjoyed a decaf cappuccino for dessert. I would definitely go back to this restaurant next time I am in Chattanooga!

It was our first visit to STIR & Chattanooga. A great experience. The waitstaff was knowledgeable & accommodating. The oysters were fresh, briny and delicious. The cocktails and ICE CUBES amazing. Entrees were prepared beautifully. We can’t wait for our next visit to Chattanooga.

Overall, very good experience. The parking situation and clarity on which lot, of the like 5, is validated would be nice. Everything else, very good!

We loved eating here while visiting our neice at UTC. The oysters were fabulous! The craft cocktails were wondeful. Service was excellent. If STIR was in our home town (Nashville) it would be our new favorite place.

We ate here while visiting Chattanooga. It took about 20 minutes after being seated for our server to come to the table. Out of all the food that was ordered, the cheeseburger egg rolls were the best. The salad had practically no dressing, and it took 15 mins to ask for more. And I typically do light dressing, so that should give some indication of how dry it was. I ordered the ribeye medium rare. It was cooked incredibly unevenly. The majority of the steak was well done, but oddly I received it cold to where the butter wouldn't even melt. I tried to get our server's attention, but after 20 minutes to no avail, I gave up. Also, I had to ask for a refill, so most of the meal was consumed without a drink. The bill was over $150, and while I don't mind spending money on food, the value was not there. The steak alone was $56, and the season nor preparation reflected that. I hate well-done steak, so I left disappointed and a little hungry, with a significant amount of money spent. My daughter who is a big steak fan wouldn't even eat it. We don't plan on returning when we're back in town.

Had the steakhouse burger. Good flavor but very small, thin patty. For $23 would have liked a thicker burger.
