The restaurant was founded in 2023 by owner Stella Spanu, a Boulder local. Honoring her Italian heritage and embracing her passion for food and hospitality, Spanu’s philosophy is to have a dining experience that stimulates all senses by incorporating visual art, design, music, premier service, comfortable seating and fresh, authentic Italian cuisine. The space, an Art Deco inspiration, was conceptualized and built by architect Miguel Quismondo.

Stella's is showcasing a world-class menu, highlighting traditions from all over Italy, with house-made pastas with imported ingredients directly from Italy, and locally sourced ingredients from Colorado farms. The menu is accompanied by an extensive selection of Italian wines and specialty cocktails.

Friday and Saturday, after dinner service, the space will transform into a lounge with a dance floor with a state-of-the-art sound system, while guests are encouraged to enjoy beverages, the dance floor, and a wide variety of music.

It was amazing. The food was so good, the drinks were good and the service was amazing. My husband and I enjoyed our time at Stella’s!

A real delight in all respects! Acoustics are well-controlled so one can hear both music and conversation. I had the truffle starter with egg yolk in Parmesan, really excellent and not too heavy. Focaccia was a great way to scoop up the egg. Venison medallions for the main were also terrific. The Sommelier recommended wine was good but despite being 2012 to a while to open up. Decanting helped. Didn’t stay for dessert due to leftovers of same at home.

We had a pleasant experience from the moment we were greeted by the host for dinner until the very end. Margaret took very good care of our table. Will definitely return.

The decor, music, and hostess were fabulous. Our waiter was rude and didn’t put in our full order, so our sides can out after we’d finished our main course. The bread was undercooked and tough. The appetizers were passable, nothing special. The cavatelli with mushrooms was the worst pasta dish we’ve ever had. Risotto was only okay. Grilled veggies were salty. We mentioned this and they didn’t charge us for them. We’d eaten down the street at Cozobi a few night before and the meal was exceptional. Go there instead!

Food was good. Ambiance is excellent. Only issue was one of our guests was served his meal well before we received ours due to an error in planning in the kitchen. His options were to eat the dinner early or have it go back to the kitchen and sit under a heat lamp. It was his birthday btw. A nice restaurant in a bigger city would have corrected their error and remade the dish without our knowledge so we would have had a flawless meal. Other than this issue, the meal was lovely.

We’ve been here several times now. The deconstructed Italian menu misses the mark. Especially with the teeny tiny portion sizes and enormous bill.

I question how this place got a Michelin star. My introduction to this place was being sat to by the drink well with employees being Rowdy and loud and one even bumped into me. Basically a bar atmosphere. I requested to be re sat which they did. Then they brought out a complementary appetizer that looked like it would be crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle, WRONG !! More like chewy And get stuck in your teeth. Then we wanted a burratta which seem simple and self explanatory but NOPE it’s not what you think it is we had to be told it was something different and then heard the waiter explain to another table that it’s not what you think it is( when the waiter is having to clarify a menu seems like you should re think what you are doing) the ambiance is kind of cool but for someone in the medical profession the constantly evolving art on the wall looks like organs and at one point it looked like chronic wasting disease, the one that deer get ( not great cause I ordered the venison) now for the good part the food was great ( slightly lukewarm) but great flavors. Last note we had to send back a wine glass ( should have been caught)
