Our Kitchen is one of the most special places at the Roundhouse. Housed in a former bottling area of the brewery, there is seating for up to 100. Relax with a Steam Whistle pilsner and grab a bite from our from-scratch seasonal menu.

Enjoy a selection our in-house beers, seltzers, Ontario wines and bar rail. Sit out on a sun-soaked patio, complete with original cobblestones and tucked between vintage trains, simply look to the sky to see Toronto’s iconic landmark, the CN tower.

On Jays game days, we welcome walk-in customers only at the Steam Whistle Kitchen. Our Taproom is also open with some seating and stand-up bar service

I used to rave about Steamwhistle since my last visit ~12 months ago. With the sole exception of our greeter, this experience was the total opposite. The fried food was greasy (chicken wings) and went half uneaten. Mussels were okay, 1/3 uneaten. Banh Mi was okay with the worst upcharged side salad of 2024—it’s bad when you leave a salad. In our party of 5, the best someone could say was a polite ‘good’, but only so I did not feel bad about my restaurant choice for our special get-together. The server was disinterested, and I felt we were annoying them. This is the definition of a tourist trap. It's totally disappointing and sad. It used to be so good, but alas, no more. Note that this is a no-cash, card-only venue, and it isn’t posted anywhere, so prepare to pay at least one person's bill. Also, check operating times. Out of season, they close surprisingly early if you want dinner after 7 p.m. My advice is to only go for a beer, which I will do. It is a fun location enough to compensate for disinterested service; just eat elsewhere.

First time here. Great walking proximity to where we were staying and for a meal after the ball game. We had a reservation and I’m glad we did. Very busy spot. Staff were excellent. Friendly, genuine, all worked together as a team to provide great service. Fish and chips was amazing. The batter is so light and crispy. Didn’t much care for the coleslaw, which was unfortunate because I love coleslaw but they added an herb, rosemary I think and it does not complement it at all. Drinks were good. Overall a good experience. Would go back again.

I got a free beer since it was my birthday a few days prior which was awesome and not expected! Definitely recommend if you’re in the downtown Toronto area- great service, food, environment, and super close to the main attractions!

We were a huge group and the service was exceptional to accommodate our large group. Food was delicious. Beer was on point. Loved it.

They try to charge you on every single possible thing. From cutting the birthday cake “per person”, to mandatory tips and an extra optional tip. They don’t reply to phone calls and overall, I think there are manyyyyy other options for you anyway.
