Welcome to the Steam Plant Restaurant and Brew Pub! This historical building actually functioned as a steam plant between 1916 and 1986, when the last boiler was shut down in December of that year.

Then years later, the old plant was transformed from a dirty, drab industrial behemoth into a cathedral-bright architectural showcase becoming a functional commercial space while maintaining as much history and equipment as possible within the rigid guidelines of historic renovation. Fortunately, the iconic twin stacks continue to lend a uniqueness to the Spokane skyline.

Since reopening in November 2021, the Steam Plant has partnered with Grain Shed Brewing whose beers are made with regionally sourced ingredients. The bar and dinner menus have been updated to showcase local favorites. Prices range from $11 - 16 for shareable appetizers, soups & salads, handhelds, and pizza; entries range from $18 - 38; and desserts range from $9 - 19 for the Steam Plant Shareable that feeds 4-6 people.

Great experience. The food and service were outstanding. Be sure to allow time to explore the whole historical site. It is a must for those who love the old turn of the century (1900) machines and robust technology.

Well, have been here several times over the years, but I was quite disappointed by the carnitas tacos. I’ve eaten tacos for probably 50 years, but it has to be the first time I’ve ever had it half filled with plain rice. I mean, come on! $3 per taco with about 25 cents of meat and veggies, and then half-filled with rice? I have to say, a real ripoff.

I was there for my 5 year anniversary with my wonderful fiancé. The staff is excellent and called to confirm my reservation. We got there and got sat immediately at the table we met at. Food was fast and drinks were refilled quickly. And the food was tasty! I highly recommend coming for and special occasion, any occasion where you want a unique atmosphere and great food and fun.

Service and the food was awesome!! This is a really cool restaurant and looking around the old steam plant was very interesting! I highly recommend this resturant.

The food was very good but the noise level from the musical performance on a Thirsday was quite loud at 6pm. Restaurant space is cavernous and temperature of area cold. We will dine there again but chosse to eat in the bar area which looked cozy and had more ambience.

Food nothing special. Spinach salad good flavors but way over cooked. Out table was off to the side (good for visiting) but out of waiter’s usual path so service was spotty. Decor very fun as it was Halloween time of year

The table was ready right away. The server was excellent. The food was not very good, just meh. We enjoyed our company and could hear the conversation. The only real downside was when a couple was sat behind our booth, every time they moved, it felt like a kid was jamming their foot into our seat, so very uncomfortable and distracting.

The Steam Plant Restaurant and Bar was the perfect venue for celebrating my twins’ Wonka-themed Golden Birthday! The atmosphere is truly unique, with amazing steampunk vibes that set the perfect backdrop for a memorable event. Their happy hour menu is excellent, offering a great selection of drinks and food. The pizzas for the kids were a hit, and the adults loved the creative drinks. The staff was accommodating, and the industrial-meets-classic decor really enhanced the experience. Highly recommend for a fun, one-of-a-kind celebration!

Service seemed very rush, food was over cooked and drinks were weak….. sad that we’ll probably won’t go back even though it’s considered one of the best restaurants in town…
