Operating in the historic seaside village since 1973, Steak Loft in Olde Mistick Village, CT serves up the very freshest seafood and premium beef along with drinks and live entertainment. With a dining room and lounge area, everyone can take in the scenery while dining on truly delicious fare.

The menu options for the Steak Loft include lunch and dinner, but also the quick bites served up in the friendly lounge. A full-bar service allows guests to pair any meal with a cocktail or beer, yet it is also a very family friendly establishment. The main menu includes delicious fresh chowders and bisques, freshly prepared salads, steaks, ribs, chops and enormous seafood plates. The Steak Loft is also noted for its combinations of meat and seafood and the desserts are sinful and popular, especially the chocolate flour-less torte, and homemade bread pudding.

The waitstaff was amazing. Just wish people would realize when their little ones are too overcooked to go to a sit down restaurant.

What a great find!! This is a 10/10. Don’t pass this spot as we have in the past. We have been to Mystic several times and had always just driven past this GREAT restaurant, maybe because it’s as soon as you turn off 95. That’s been a big mistake. Our waitress was phenomenal & the food was amazing. We had the Steak & Crabcake combo & Skirt Steak teriyaki. We got to pick any sides & salad. Opted for the double loaded baked potato, mashed red potato with the skin, Greek salad & Cesar’s salad.

Noted as anniversary reservation and yet was seated at the first table after the hostess stand. Disappointing. Offer special drink prices but only if we sat in bar area that is a few feet away was odd when all other restaurants offer early specials throughout the restaurants. We ordered drinks but not happy to pay &5 more to sit in comfortable chair vs bar stool. Food came out hot and was tasty but sadly not what we remember for our last visit as we celebrate or 20 Anniversary.

When I booked the reservation through OpenTable, I selected a birthday as a special occasion. I added into special instructions for our server to wish a happy birthday to the individual at my party. None of that happened. I ordered the chicken skewer and the chicken came out raw and uncooked in the center. They were out of several desserts. Very few people in the restaurant should’ve probably been a clue. I would not recommend.

We have not been to Steak Loft since before Covid but were going to be in the area so decided to stop in. We sat at a table next to a window filled with spider webs. The steaks had no flavor and were very tough. For the prices of the items, the value and quality was definitely not there, and we will not be returning any time soon. It was a big disappointment from what we were expecting.

We have been going to The Steak Loft nearly 50 years… it was our place to go to when dating, and my wife & I enjoy going there now, just as much… the food and ambiance are wonderful, but like everything else, it just costs a little more than it did….

Wonderful meal with some nostalgia as my wife and I met her parents to whom I was introduced in the fall of 1991 at this very restaurant. Service was exceptional and food quite good. Not true steakhouse faire but well prepared, good portions, and reasonably priced.

Steak Loft is one of our favorites. We have been visiting over 40 years and it's always good. The staff works hard and their service is awesome. The ambiance is cozy and relaxing. We will return soon.

Ordered steak kabob med/rare - came well done and broccoli was cold (frozen bag obviously) Husband ordered Sirloin steak med and it came extremely rare. Told waitress she had cook re-cook Sirloin (which was a ribeye) so much grainy meat it was hard to eat. My re-meal had hot broccoli and med/rare steak. However the steaks were not very good - not lean - very chewy. Pretty sad for the prices. Long story short the manager took off the price for the sirloin, that was basically a crappy ribeye. The place is very dark (so you can’t see your meal) will never go back - don’t waste your money on the steaks there.
