Not just another steakhouse, Steak 48 - Chicago is a contemporary steakhouse featuring prime steaks, a raw bar and extensive fresh seafood selection, other unique appetizers and side dishes including a double baked truffle potato, asparagus fries and corn crème brûlée, classic cocktails and an extensive award winning wine list.

In order to support our service staff there is a 20% gratuity on all checks. At Steak 48, we encourage all of our guests to get dressed up for a great experience. In order to maintain an enjoyable environment for all guests, athletic wear, excessively revealing clothing, exposed undergarments will not be permitted. We prefer no printed t-shirts, hats or visors and always appreciate collared shirts or sports coats. Please dress as your elegant selves. You are going to have a great time!

Overall we had a lovely meal. The highlights: - loved the ambiance, the seating was comfortable and the mood lighting was spot on - our server was very friendly - my husband loved his steak, mashed potatoes, and corn crème brûlée combo. He could not have been happier with his mains and sides. - they had a great music selection, atypical for your stereotypical steakhouse music lineup - excellent waitstaff, the guy who kept us hydrated with water was probably the nicest person we met the entire night. Super lovely guy. - the Mac and cheese was gooey and decadent - the ultimate vanilla butter cake tasted of a really good sugar cookie - everyone, even those not waiting on us were pleasant and engaging. We enjoyed everyone’s sunny dispositions The misses: - we did ask for suggestions as it was our first time, and I did notice that every one of our server’s suggestions for meals, apps, etc were the most expensive things on the menu which makes me feel like she is just being told to upsell and perhaps doesn’t actually recommend the items she said - the Caesar salad was light on dressing (this coming from my husband who usually complains about the opposite) and our warm croutons were not at all warm - my 12oz steak, unlike that of my hubby, was overcooked. I asked for medium rare and I got medium in the center, and a good chunk of it was medium well to well, completely gray. The sear on it was so hard it tasted burnt. I ate about four bites. I did mention this to them but nothing was done. - the crab meat on the Mac and cheese had a piece of shell in one piece of meat, and the other had the “bone” still in it. This is a big faux pas for some. -the timing was long. We were there for about three hours, and there was a long wait between courses not just from the kitchen but for the server— there were many times we were looking for her to order the next course. I appreciated we did not feel rushed but it seems like we did a lot of waiting. 4/5 stars overall

Some of the best food I have ever had. Truly outstanding. Service was incredible - Yazmin took excellent care of us …truly above and beyond. She made the night memorable and special. Matthew was awesome as well. Can’t say enough good things about the food quality and service. I would give 6 stars if I could !

My partner arrived before me. She was warmly greeted and given great attention before my tardy arrival. Cocktails were very good and food quality was outstanding. Unused glasses and service dishes were promptly removed and our server was quite attentive to assure our needs and wants were being addressed. The ambience was great. We will continue to have this restaurant very high on our list.

Everything was good as usual but our waiter this time missed the mark. It was my husband birthday and we were all dressed up. The waiter didn’t wish his happy birthday like the other waiters did to their tables and no happy birthday on the dessert we ordered.

Our server was amazing. She took care of us from start to finish. The drinks and food were delicious. I wish I had room for dessert because the options looked so tasty.

C’est vraiment un excellent restaurant, le service est impeccable, le personnel courtois, les plats succulents. Nous sommes allés pour le steak, tout était tellement bien fait, assiette bouillante viande cuite à la perfection accompagnements chaud et fumant. Cependant, La carte des vins propose peu ou pas de vin abordable.
