This was my second visit and I expected more. Since they dont have a bar charging $10-15 water is ridiculous. Its not about being able to afford it its just the principle. This establishment is in Hollywood among dive bars. Food is ok but the excessive charges on beverage particular water is quite ridiculous. The food is ok some things were a little salty and portions were decent. The rice and peas were not the best but edible. Cabbage is amazing. Coconut and Thai Salmon were decent as well.

The restaurant is very cute. The ambiance was a great vibe. The music was on point. I went on a Friday night at 10pm. It was not busy like I expected it to be. Our server was not attentive and was socializing with coworkers. I ordered oxtail egg rolls, oxtails, and curry goat. My food came out fast. The flavor of the oxtail and goat had a sweet taste to it, almost like a BBQ flavor. Not that is a problem but they do not have a liquor license as of now.

Place was empty. One server who was also the hostess. Food took a long time, then it was cold, no spirits. It was a weird empty environment. More of an abandoned place vs an open business.

An impromptu date night was just what a girl needs on a Tuesday! The set up was a vibe and it was amazing. The staff were attentive and the food was great! The chef came out and we got to thank him for blessing us with such a favorable dinner! We will be back for sure!

I'm from the 15th Parrish of Jamaica otherwise known as Brooklyn NY and I consider myself to be a Jamaican Cuisine Expert. I can't even begin to explain the culinary excellence.It's an unparalleled experience. No other Jamaican restaurant in Southern California delivers Jamaican Excellence on this level from food taste quality presentation and the ambience the vibe the staff. Roll it all up in one and Dem Find It!!!!!!!!

Good food but a bit overpriced for the presentation and atmosphere. The layout of the restaurant could use some help. The security guards at the door felt intimidating but staff was lovely (but inexperienced). It suffers from a bit of an identity crisis. The seating screams “lounge” but since there is no real bar (or liquor license) it feels like a poorly designed restaurant with more exciting days ahead. I ordered the jerk honey lamb chops which were good but a bit overcooked as were the rice and peas. The cabbage was great and well seasoned. My husband had the curry goat and thought it was delicious. The watermelon mojito mocktail was also a winner and I found myself hoping they’d get a liquor license soon. Once they do, we will revisit and review again. It deserves more patronage than the sparse crowd that was there.

My husband and I first visited Status Restaurant on our anniversary in May 2024. We’ve visited twice since then, and brought guests who also enjoyed their meals. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure we have a great experience; the restaurant is clean and spacious - a great spot for celebrating a birthday or special occasion. The food is delicious! I recommend the oxtails, jerk honey chicken and jerk honey lamb chops but there’s so much more on the menu. In our experience, everyone from the host, servers, and owners are very hospitable.
