Since 1989, State Street Brats has proudly been a University of Wisconsin tradition. With our famous Red Brats and a great selection of local beer, there’s no place better to cheer on the Badgers on game day. There’s something for everyone on our menu, with plenty of tasty pub food like cheese curds and wings. Our patio is also the perfect place to grab a drink on a sunny afternoon. Whether you’re a current student wanting to grab a bite after class or an alumni in town for the game, we look forward to showing you a good time and serving up good food.

State Street Brats is pleased to offer a variety of gluten free options on both our food and beverage menu. We are not a gluten-free restaurant and cannot ensure that cross contamination will never occur. We have processes in place to minimize that happening but there is a great deal of gluten in the air and on our work surfaces. Our sandwiches must be prepared on the same grill as our other sandwiches and we do brush the grill but there is a good risk of cross contamination. If you are a Celiac and/or highly sensitive please advise the person taking your order and know that we will do our best but cannot guarantee your order will not touch gluten somewhere in the process

Open Table charged us $5 a head for reservations…guess what…??? They don’t take reservations. So who took my $35 plus a auto generated tip? Don’t know??? Bull crap is what that is.

They did not honor my reservation. I paid $20 for a lunch reservation in their patio but when I arrived the hostess said there were no open tables and that they don’t actually reserve tables outdoors. She offered to seat us inside, but there is a pandemic going on, we paid for an outside reservation for a reason. We told her we would wait and she said she would text/call when a table opened up. She never called. I notified State Street Brats on their website about our experience. A manager named Keegan contacted me right away, but he tried to claim that they did hold a table for us but released it because we were over 15 minutes late (both not true) and he tried to claim that the hostess told us a bunch of things that were in direct contradiction to what she actually said. He then offered to seat us outside 4+ hours after our reservation. Only after I replied to challenge the assertion that this was somehow our fault did he offer to refund our $20 reservation fee. Then he got angry at me and pulled the old “who do you think you are talking to” card. I would not recommend paying for an outdoor reservation at this establishment

Made a reservation and was asked to pay 5.00 per person . , total of 25 .00. When I asked if that would be credited to my bill the server was clueless. Said no, a that’s a reservation fee??? Seriously to eat at the Brat House ? Also service was horrible, never cleared table of used cups and dishes . To many other places that care about their patrons and don’t charge you to eat there . Really disappointed... go elsewhere, I promise you’ll have a better experience

Any time we are Madison that’s were we love to go. This time is was great we could make reservations. The only draw back it wasn’t full because of Covid. But soon it will be back to full house. We can’t wait, thank you again for a great time.
