Manger dans un restaurant étoilé Michelin peut paraître un peu solennel, mais il en va tout autrement au State Bird Provisions. Le plus difficile (et le plus plaisant) est de s'en tenir à sa commande, alors qu'un chariot de dim sum passe devant vous, chargé de pancakes à la choucroute au fromage ou de plats néo-américains aux accents asiatiques. Grâce à une carte toujours renouvelée des chef·fe·s Stuart Brioza et Nicole Krasinski, lauréat·e·s du James Beard Award, chaque visite s'avère encore plus savoureuse que la précédente.

The food was amazing. The carts that bring the “Dim Sum” bring a wide variety of delicious bites, and the waitstaff is very helpful in explaining everything that’s available. The desserts were just as wonderful.

Food ingredients and quality was good but honestly for how much it costed, I expected much better preparation and execution. Some of the dishes were just bland or on the flip side, overly drenched in oil or aioli. For my entree, I requested the steak medium rare but it was very rare when it arrived — I wish I sent it back. I realize medium-rare may be matter of opinion but I've order steak enough from other restaurants like Harris' Restaurant and Chez Panisse to know what medium-rare usually looks like. I did enjoy the fig sesame toast and the Mt. tam corn cakes (eat it with the shishito peppers to balance out the rich cheese). Loud noise level but not a surprise given the social and interactive aspect of this place. I love the idea of the dim sum style offerings, it made for a fun experience but with the majority of the many dishes we tried being a let down, I sadly will not be back.

Had a amazing birthday dinner here! Definitely come hungry in order to try as much as possible. My husband and I enjoyed everything! It was fun that the small dishes were walked around and lead us to try things we wouldn't have typically ordered.

Try not to sit at the back tables, the service tray can be empty until it reaches you. Food is good, ambiance is ok.

Still the most innovative, creative and delicious food in the Bay Area. And wonderfully energetic atmosphere. Great service — everyone is so helpful — the dishes all combine interesting and different ingredients and the staff are all great at explaining each dish. Really, it’s the best!!

I was delighted by the wide variety of delicious small plates. The ingredients used seem to be very healthy and food was prepared with unique combination of spices. I fully enjoyed my dinner and the excellent service. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We came for my birthday and received exceptional service and recommendations. The food was flavorful, unique and a great variety to choose from. Loved the dim sum options and the ability to order staple dishes as well. A wonderful experience. Will definitely visit again.

All three of us absolutely loved our dinner and experience. It was all our first time there. The food and the staff were outstanding. There was so much variety with the food, we were very impressed.
