Went for the Valentines Day Dinner. Service was great, very attentive servers. Food from Valentines menu was amazing. Always love coming here because it has a great vibe. We always sit in the bar area as we prefer that area.

The Valentine's Day dinner experience was not good. They clearly booked too many tables to maximize their profits, and the diners suffered for it. Service was rushed, and the food was average at best. The shared dessert was rock-hard - obviously heated and reheated. We got one small bowl of mixed greens to share. I literally had a fly in my coffee, and they still put it on my bill. It was a mess. State & Main is usually much better than this, so I'm chalking it up to management's mishandling this time. We will go back again, just not on a night like that.

I was there last night for Valentine’s Day. And honestly, like I understand his Valentine’s Day and you guys, etc., but if you’re gonna charge a certain, then there’s a certain expectation how the food should be prepared, especially when it comes to salmon and chicken. My partners salmon was completely tough and not tender at all. The only thing that was honestly the middle was mashed potatoes, asparagus, and the dessert was pretty mediocre.

It was good night but for a dinner for 2 Valentines meal to offer only one small salad to share is not right.

Our server was so kind and allowed us time to talk without intervening too much! The food was hot and delicious! I’ve never had a bad experience at State and Main!

We had a very bad experience at another State and Main and after reporting it, the company addressed it and acted in a very professional manner in taking care of our concerns. We visited the State and Main in Whitby this time and had a wonderful meal. The Bam Bam Shrimp Appetizer was very good and the Royal Bangkok Bowl was the best Pad Thai type bowl I have ever had. The server was one of the best we have had. Only issue was the noise level which was very higher than I like. We are looking forward to visiting again.
