Welcome to State & Main Hamilton. We serve elevated comfort food and cocktails, providing a vibrant downtown atmosphere in your neighbourhood restaurant & bar. Our location is only five minutes off the Lincoln Alexander Parkway. This area has grown exponentially, and we are grateful to be a part of it!                                                                                             We have been big fans of state and main for years but lately we’ve noticed the food quality has gone down hill. We had to send our daughter’s steak back as it was like rubber. And the amount of chicken they provide per dish(for example the spicy thai salad or any other dish where chicken is added) is probably about half a breast. This was not the first time this has happened. Seems they try to focus on filling you up with carbs and lettuce instead of keeping adequate protein in the dish. My husband had the truffle rigatoni which was $26, the dish was not full and was also very bland. Definitely overpriced for the portion and quality. The service was friendly but we will not be going back sadly.

                                                                                            Enjoyed the delicious salmon dinner and fish & chip dinner. Great service, patio very comfortable with beautiful flower baskets and good music in the background. We will be back!

The service was quick but not rushed, we felt like our waiters only customers, he was patient, listened to our questions and gave us great recommendations. The food was phenomenal, very fresh, tasty and decent portions. It was a fantastic experience and we will definitely return.

                                                                                            Very disappointed with this visit. When stated had 6pm reservation the front staff looked at me like I had 2 heads and preceded to seat us in far corner of bar side not exactly sure why seated there as in my reservation requested server Nicole but didn’t get her. Server we did get was fine though. If this had been my first visit I would not return ginger ale was so water down and the food was not very good at all. steak was so fatty and it worth the price at all. Was so put off by poor meal and where we were seated chose not to stay for dessert which had been looking forward to but didn’t want to stay any longer then needed to. As said before had this been first time here would definitely not return. Hopefully next time will be better !!
