Starlite is a historic San Francisco cocktail bar with nearly a century of vibrant stories. Renowned for hosting lively parties and attracting iconic figures like Alan Ginsberg, Starlite invites guests to the Beacon Grand’s 21st-floor, featuring refreshed interiors by San Francisco designer Alice Crumeyrolle. The atmosphere is set with rich velvet fabrics and a jewel-tone palette inspired by the Art Deco Era, paying homage to the city’s icons. Crafted by Scott Baird of Trick Dog fame, the cocktails are both playful and meticulously made. Michelin-award-winning chef Johnny Spero curates a menu that celebrates San Francisco’s culinary artistry, drawing inspiration from international fare. Enhancing the experience are nightly, all-vinyl DJ sets by music director Nina Tarr.

Ambience was great but I took 1 ⭐️ off because of the windows were distractingly dirty. It’s hard to appreciate the views when dingy windows are preventing us to enjoy the scenery. Clean the windows please! Service was accommodating but their price point for their bites were pricey. Overall we had a great time.

Went for a couple drinks and small snacks, our waitress was good for the first 5 minutes and then completely disappeared. After about 45 minutes we told someone that no one had come back to our table and we got another server who was good. We didn’t see our server for the rest of the time we were there. Ambience was nice, drinks were really good, food was okay. The fries were great, the tuna was great, the oysters were fishy (to the point where I almost couldn’t eat them). Price is on the high side but that’s to be expected. Nothing crazy though. There is also an automatic tip on the bill (of I think 18%) which was extremely annoying to have to pay after the service we received. I would have expected them to remove the first round of drinks or remove the automatic tip. Overall if the service would have met the price their charge, I would have given them at least 4, probably 5 stars.

Hostesses are rude, service is slow and bad. Food is bad and not worth the money. Good place for drinking as we ended up opening 7 bottles! And right after we opened the last bottle, we got notified that we have to leave because we stayed 3 hours there. - would be nice to let us know before we just bought the bottle! Then the hostess came and told us must “leave now “. We were very shocked. For spending almost $1k for 6 ppl for the night, at the least asking nicely and give us maybe a 30 minutes notice? Would that be nice? Will not go back again. There are plenty of good places in the city that you can go, no need to spend $$$, and get humiliated in public. So wrong.

Nice bar above Beacon Grand hotel where we were staying, very bustling and loud even for half 6 on a Sunday night. We didn’t get a very good seat in between two couples where it was very loud so I asked the host to move but she wasn’t very gracious and seemed angry so we ended up just sitting on the high tables which I believe were just reserved for walk ins. Drinks were nice but took a while and were expensive. Nice but wouldn’t say the best but lovely views from the rooftop if you get a nice seat.

Beautiful views on a clear day. Get a table non-sun facing or you will be looking at a closed shade. Great cocktails and service but not a food destination.

The cocktails were interesting and delicious. Small bites were also good but the service was certainly lacking. My husband and I felt blatantly ignored by our waitress. It took us over 45 minutes before we could flag someone down to ask about ordering food and another round of beverages. This isn’t how we envisioned our anniversary evening.
