Specializing in steaks and seafood, Stakeout Dining Room and Lounge in Stouffville, Ontario serves its patrons some of the best prime rib, beef and seafood dishes in the area. With a reputation for top food served with care and attention in its excellent, cozy dining space, Stakeout is sure to please even the most demanding meat eater. All the steaks at Stakeout are aged a minimum of 28 days and hand-selected to ensure you get the best cut possible. Lunch and dinner are served and you can order a la carte or at dinner as part of a set menu. There’s filet mignon, rib eye, the New York striploin as well as amazing seafood options like broiled lobster tail and Alaskan king crab.

This was our second time going back and it was a little bit of a disappointment. We waited forever to order drinks plus they forgot to give me a menu I was the only person at the table without a menu, it was my parents and myself. I had to ask twice for a menu. We got appetizers calamari and unfortunately, that was a huge disappointment, it was absolutely horrendous we sent it back and did not want another order. The calamari left a nasty aftertaste in your mouth, Dinner was good but my dad ordered the 24oz rib steak and he definitely didn’t get the 24oz my mom’s steak (12oz prime rib) was bigger than his. I’m hoping if we go back they have faster better service.

The food and service was great! My boyfriend and I were a little disappointed cuz we came for chicken Neptune and chocolate soufflé for dessert and both items were off the menu. But other than that our meal was great we really enjoyed it and will be going back!

Service was very good, but very slow. It's not the waiter, it's the kitchen. My filet mignon was a bit over done even for medium, so instead of juicy, it was dry, especially around the edges. My wife was raving about the vegetables, they were done just right, although my carrots were barely warm. The seat padding in the large chairs is pressed down, so an under average height person would need booster seats. Over all, though, it was a very pleasant evening.

Dinner was a cocktail, oysters, lamb and halibut, soup and salad, cappuccino. Cocktail was….um…weak. Barely got a buzz :). Oysters were fresh but wait staff was unsure of origin. Tasty! Caesar was small but very fresh with lovely while anchovies served on top (a personal preference). Lamb chops were dreadfully salty and brutally overcooked. Halibut was very dry and oddly (in my opinion) served without a sauce. Vegetables were perfectly cooked but breathtakingly bland. Chose to cut our losses and not do dessert but the cappuccino was one of the best I’ve ever had! Overall disappointing for the price point. Service was very attentive and very polite. Really a nice spot location and ambience wise. Not sure I’ll try again. $260 for two with just a single cocktail each is not good value.

The food was awful, the oysters were tiny like my fingernail, the Caesar salad we had had fish that smelled really bad in it. The main course took forever to come. Never coming back here again.

We had a reservation for 7:45. We were seated at 7:30. Didn’t get our dinner (no special requests or anything) until 9:30. No apology, nothing.

It was a good restaurant overall however it was during the busiest time of the year Valentine's Day we had a table by the bar, surprisingly it was quite quiet then the dining side. the kitchens was understaffed we had to almost wait for 2 hours for our main course to come out, we only order a prime rib and two-tailed lobster, the food come out was warm not hot. the waitress was overworked as well. We had soup for entree the waitress only bring us tablespoon because they ran out of soup spoon.

This visit was on the Valentines' Day dinner. Prices on the menu had gone up, approx 12-15% higher than on the website menu. is it due to the Valentines' Day? Well, I don't know. I didn't ask.
