St Thomas is an intimate Spanish inspired restaurant and wine bar by Michelin Stared Chef Quinton Bennett, located in the heart of Toronto’s historic Yorkville neighbourhood, nestled on picturesque St. Thomas Street and surrounded by mid-century and modern architecture. We celebrate the best of Basque Country cuisine and international wine by serving Pintxos and carefully curated small plates. Phenomenal food - layers of different flavours. The wine selection is also incredible. The staff were helpful and attentive. I will absolutely be back.

Tony, the server, was incredible. The sommelier was also fantastic, giving us free sparkling wine to celebrate our daughter’s 21st, two free sampler glasses of wine, used argon gas for our last two bottles so that we could take them away afterwards.

The food here is incredible. The room is beautiful. The staff are effortlessly attentive. The wines by the glass are exquisite. You should go now.

We had a beautiful, gourmet tapas style meal, served impeccably in an intimate setting. Attentive and polite servers. The place was immaculate. We were treated royally. Special thanks for the extra treat from the chef’s garden! Look forward to the next time!

Great new place in the yorkville area. Food was simply fantastic, as was the service. Be sure to try the chef’s signature dishes…all were amazing. Bravo!

My first time at the wine bar. It will be my new go to. The sparkling and pixto were amazing!

A rich, villainous interior - where you'd imagine corrupt politicians go to make backdoor deals. At 6:00 PM on a Saturday it was empty, save for a moneyed patron drinking scotch and sermonizing the bartender. The front of house was welcoming and our server friendly. My wife and I ordered a glass of wine each, two plates from the hot menu (jamon and fermented tuna) and two plates from the cold menu (prawns and mackerel). The California Cab Sav at $28 dollars a glass was good enough to order a second glass, though drank too warm and needed to be served a degree or two cooler. My Spanish wife enjoyed the jamon, which came with olives, toasted focaccia and a tomato jam. The jamon was of high quality, but cut too thick losing the melt in your mouth experience. The tuna plate offered plenty of flavour and was the best received dish of the night. The dinner turned disappointing when the cold plates arrived. My wife's prawns - a pair topped with a chorizo relish- were accompanied by more focaccia (the only plentiful item of the night). The plate ate more like an appetizer than main and would have benefited from a veg. As for the mackerel, it can with veg, though nothing more than the peelings of a carrot. A peasant's portion of mackerel was the only other thing on the plate. With good table manners it was consumed in two bites and left me wondering why I paid $38 dollars. Skipping dessert and leaving 20% tip, the total came to $330. Popcorn and canned sardines were later consumed at home so to stave off hunger. If you are watching your calories but not your chequing account give it a visit, otherwise pop over to Eatley for a fulfilling meal at a fraction the price.

Pricey but a great spot for a cozy date night. All three dishes were Michelin star quality and the service is attentive but not intrusive. We were not rushed through our meal - we could take our time and really enjoy the experience. Nice to have a high end option near Koerner Hall. We’ll be back.

I went with a friend to celebrate her house sale. There was a snowstorm, there were very few other diners, but the service was 5 star, and we had the wine pairing menu, Californian wines were featured, and the food choices nestled in perfectly with the selections presented, the wines poured excellently by the somellier . It is a surprisingly rare thing to see front and back of house working together in a glorious harmony. Having each of the courses presented and described by the chefs can, in other restaurants, cross into pretentiousness, but the easy flow, and ability to answer some of my questions about the dishes and wines, easy smiles, delicious and inventive food combinations( not an easy thing to combine) led to a very enjoyable, unique, evening, I would be happy to do over and over again. I think a diners event exploring more off the main highway of wines, might be a good idea. If I am to offer any criticism of the evening it is that the experience and expertise of the sommelier is being well utilized at St Thomas, but more could be done to showcase his knowledge of other less well known excellent wine regions of the world for future wine pairing events .
