    Fabulous old building decked out with gorgeous fixtures and fittings and dimmed lighting perfect for an intimate ambient dining experience. The oysters were divine, the mussels delicious and the seabass fillets tender and very tasty. The wine choices extensive and cocktails looked great. Would thoroughly recommend.

    Nothing wrong with the food - excellent mussels and gambas prawn starters - cod loin was beautifully cooked but in our opinion there was far too much garlic butter/oil over the vegetables. We also thought that they seemed short on staff tonight (Sunday evening - table of 6 not cleared for at least 20 mins after they left). Finally, it is a restaurant - I did not expect to have dinner with a large retriever dog sat at a table behind me barking frequently. Disappointing.

    Was taken here for father's day and had a lovely roast, so we returned. The person who served us was very pleasant & helpful, and even offered us the opportunity to sit outside, which we accepted. One of our starters was wrong, but that was quickly rectified. The food was enjoyable, but quite pricey in our opinion. My wife had cod, potatoes & veg from the specials board which she enjoyed, but at £27 was a fair bit for what it was we thought. I had a cheeseburger, but don't think you should have to pay an extra £2 for bacon or onion rings when it's £17.50 to begin with. The burger was quite pink in the middle, but manageable for me. I've seen this elsewhere - is it the done thing now? If so, i'd rather be asked how i like it, much as you do with a steak. It started to rain just as we were finishing up, so went to the desk to pay on the way out. I must say that it does irritate me to be asked to read the screen before paying, when it then asks how much of a tip you want to add to your bill, with a starting option of 12.5%, though there is an option to decline.

    I've been going back to Springtide once or twice a month, I love my favorites on the menu like Squid, Crab salad and fresh fish, and they do a lovely haddock and chips too. Their oysters are ginormous at the moment. Their special menu on the board give a good range of choices. The staff are very friendly and are getting to know me well! (My taste for food!) There is a very relaxed atmosphere, like a chic cafe with a nice view of the sea.

    Lovely restaurant, friendly staff and good ambience. Whilst the menu isn’t very big there was a good choice of specials on the day. The cod loin was delicious as was the garlic prawn starter. We couldn’t resist the Sticky toffee pudding which was so good and the sponge was very light. Would definitely recommend Springtide.

    We dined here on a Thursday (early July) and had pre booked our table online for 6pm. There was the option of a table inside or outside even with our two small dogs. It was getting a little chilly for outside and opted for inside. We chose the Mussels to start and fish of the day (sea bass) & the cod lion, all dishes were delicious. The ambience was quite pleasant and there were plenty of staff who were very attentive although we were quite early in the evening so unsure what it would be like at a later time. The restaurant did fill up quite quickly during our meal, so would definitely advise booking in advance. Our meals contained quality fresh ingredients skillfully cooked and were delicious. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and eat here again. Our scores of 4, because there’s always room for improvement except the service that we couldn’t fault, hence 5.

    We had the best meal last night in a long time! Fresh cod was delicious and the king prawn linguini was absolutely gorgeous. I asked for non dairy sauce and the chef was happy to cater to my dietary needs. We had a lovely experience & the ambiance in the restaurant was nice. The service was great, knowledgeable & friendly staff. Thanks for a lovely evening. We can’t wait to return.

    We had a lovely lunch at Springtide yesterday. The staff were warm and accommodating ensuring we were able to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine and the food was delicious- the seafood chowder was declared superb😋

    We ate outside - it was a beautiful evening which helped! My husband had fish and chips which he said was very good and I had the special which was a hake dish which was excellent. But the 'piece de resistance' was the chocolate brownie - the best I have ever tasted!
