Pennyflower Bistro and Bar is a contemporary American Bistro with a chic yet casual atmosphere. From Whipped Feta Toast to Chicken Schnitzel, to our signature Crispy Lasagna, the Pennyflower menu offers an eclectically comforting selection of bites. We are conveniently located in The Clair Hotel on the east side of downtown Cincinnati near to P&G headquarters and the Fountain District.

Took my girlfriend here for her birthday as the menu looked very interesting. The place is really large with plenty of tables Our server, Rachel, was great and took very good care of our table. The place only had one other couple dining there so noise level was low Food was exceptional The ambience was nonexistent Restaurant is over lit - like eating in a cafeteria Decor can best be described as COLD Not at all inviting I would eat here again, but only because the food was sooooo good and , because it’s such an off putting design, it shouldn’t be hard to get a table. If they redo the interior and TURN DOWN THE LIGHTS, this place would be full 7 days a week

We were really looking forward to our meal at Pennyflower and we so wanted to love it. First of all, and this is a question to the culinary world in general - how are you suddenly charging for bread service??? What a hit to the customer, whom you are supposed to be serving in a hospitable way. The bread was great - not $6 great. Why was the butter chartreuse? So odd. It was tasty, but the color made it so odd. My friend got the house salad and it was VERY good. I ordered the lobster bisque, which in reality is a $14 bowl of tomato soup. Very disappointing. I was starving so I ate it. The espresso machine either wasn't working or wasn't up and running yet. Very disappointing. Dessert was underwhelming. I ordered the pineapple passionfruit number. The menu stated that the pineapple was "burnt" ... is was cold and out of a can. We won't be back.

It’s a very new establishment and you could tell the staff were still getting the knack with their workflow. The staff were extremely nice and we could tell they were trying hard to provide good service. My only recommendation is that the service could be a bit faster. On the other hand - food was freaking delicious! We had the steak and pork. The steak was on top of tapioca like sauce with beets. Delicious. The pork had a dried fennel seasoning which was such a great taste. I also love the rice and beans- great flavor. We were stuffed! The sweetest thing was that our server gave us a crème brûlée on the house. It loved the hint of cardamom. Give them a try- food is definitely great l!

It was our first time checking this place out and surely won’t be our last. Came in for a work lunch and had amazing service. I got the vegetarian BLT, and my friend got the Banh Mi and both were excellent! Their dinner menu looks great too, going to have to make it back down here to check it out!

Without question the best steak I have ever had! The food & service was out of this world! Super impressive since the new menu started Tuesday & today is Friday. Excellent!!

Not busy on a Sunday evening, but amazingly good food and our waiter was efficient and utterly charming. Will definitely be back!
