Dinner on the patio to celebrate a birthday. The atmosphere was fantastic, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. Our party was a mix of vegetarians and non-vegetarians – everyone found a dish that they could enjoy. This is a special place with special people

The food was delicious! If you’re looking for a great vegan restaurant this is the place to go. This was our 5th time back and we will be back again!!!

I’m sad to see this amazing restaurant go downhill. They’ve removed some of our favorite dishes and appetizers, skimp on ingredients, and decreased sizes of dishes. Fries are not included anymore with sandwiches. There is a new chef and it’s not what it once was. Sad.

My mother and I absolutely loved our first experience at Spirit Elephant. The key word is first because we defintely plan to come back the next time we are back in the Chicago area. Being from NY, I taste great plant based food often, and this was the cream of the crop! The atmosphere was lovely, the food was well seasoned, and even the fried appetizers that we ordered were done well, without being too oily. I can’t wait to try more from the menu. Calamari, Penne A La Vodka & the pizza special were solid standouts. The carrot cake was something my mom had been craving for a while, and Spirit Elephant certainly delivered. Portions weren’t too big, but just right & the pricing was great as well. It didn’t feel overpriced for what we were getting. (We ordered more than needed, so the bill was high in that regard, but if we had stuck to 2 entrees and an appetizer, it would have been a fine price! Everything was so great though, we needed to take home options for lunch the next day!

Third time at Spirit Elephant. Always consistently good food and outstanding service. Shoutout to Olga and the other staff. Non-Vegans can find pasta dishes that are better than some Italian venues. I had the Penne alla Vodka and it was delicious. The only downside was the creamy sweetcorn bisque with shitake and oyster mushrooms was luke warm. I ate mine but my wife asked to have hers reheated which made it much better. My wife had the Meatless Loaf Bourguignon which she really liked. Dessert was a Blueberry cheesecake that was excellent. Also, I recommend trying the Spirt Elephant in the Room drink. Bourbon and spirits and bitters (their version of an Old Fashioned).

Most flavorful meal I have ever had. Service was very helpful in picking meals as it was the first time we had visited this establishment. Definitely going to return soon.
