Great atmosphere , staff and food excellent, great variety on menu and specials sea bass was yummy , big portions great value for money

We had the the cooked dinner. The stuffing ball was like a piece of charcoal (I nearly broke my tooth) the vegetables were tasteless . Onion rings full and dripping with grease. Garlic bread was inedible due to it being so burnt. I’ve visited this pub on many occasions and never had such bad food.

Seriously under trained & under staffed on a busy Saturday evening in the restaurant. 2 bars available however only 1 bar staff available running the 1 bar, resulting quickly in frustrated customers. Food order placed only for the starters to arrive before the main meals, waiter didn’t seem to understand why this was an issue & insisted that the main meals would be left warming under the hot plates, fish dishes included…. The waiter admitted his mistake was how he placed the order to the kitchen however he was clearly under trained. Head chef failed to accept any responsibility & continued to blame the waiter & didn’t offer any resolution to the problem even after acknowledging leaving the main meals under the hot plate was unacceptable… This unfortunately left us no option but to leave the restaurant, frustrated, hungry & disappointed. Will not be back 😡

Had a meal last night here, all meals were lovely. Went for Sunday lunch today lovely roast but cauliflower cheese could have been a bit softer. Apart from that. It was really nice food.

We booked for 1.30 on a Monday. The bar staff were pleasant and we knew from their comments that there was only one person behind the bar. However, we weren’t told to expect a long wait for our food and it took 75 minutes to arrive. It transpired that there was also only one person in the kitchen and there had been several orders to get through before ours. If e had been told there would be that long a wait we would ache gone elsewhere. It was interesting that we had to pay for our meal when we ordered, which is not our usual experience. The food was fine but the long wait diminished our enjoyment of the meal, as we were holidaying in the area and had planned to go on elsewhere after the lunch. The bar staff did apologise when we tackled her as we left, but beyond saying ‘my bad’ when we said she hadn’t told us there would be a long wait, she didn’t give the impression that our custom mattered at all.

My husband had a well done rump steak and he.couldnt even cut it let alone chew it.

Staff were polite and cheerful. We chose table service no dogs. Dinning area very clean bright an roomy. Roast dinners were are choice of food Wow 😍 very large portions of food. Absolutely delicious, piping hot 5 different veg +couliflour cheese in a side dish and a gravey boat each 😍 . Fantastic value for money will definately be going again.

Good choice and good portion size. The roast dinner could have been better, the stuffing balls could have been used in a catapult, the broccoli could have bounced if thrown on the floor and the gravy was lumpy. The service was slow and the staff weren’t what I call polite in all aspects. The ladies toilets were not clean, only 1 out of 3 could be used. And we were asked to leave our table before 2 hours were up which I found quite rude especially as the restaurant was very empty. Would I try there again? Yes but something different from the menu and maybe with less people and on a different day.

Good food at a reasonable price. Friendly pub and service was quick. Also great for watching sport.
