Inside of the Hotel W in Punta de Mita, Spice Market Beach is a restaurant dedicated to exploring the flavors of Southeast Asia. The restaurant takes its style from the family-style dining traditions that are common throughout the region. Here, instead of the guest ordering a meal and having it delivered, food arrives at the table throughout the course of the whole meal and is meant to be shared amongst the entire group. Spice Market Beach carries food from multiple countries including Taiwain, Vietnam, Korea and China. Spice Market Beach specializes in the various curries as well as tandoori chicken and vinegar-infused pork vindaloo.

We loved Spice Market!! We loved it so much that we ate here twice during our visit to Punta de Mita. The food and service were over the top. Really appreciated the enthusiasm and knowledge that our servers had for the food. Can't wait to return. My only recommendation is to move the Basketball Hoop that is positioned next to the outdoor dining area. Sounds crazy, but this restaurant is incredibly beautiful with amazing ambiance. Unfortunately, on our second visit, there was a couple that for some reason brought their kids to dinner and felt that it was ok for the kids to play basketball while mom and dad had an amazing dinner at this beautiful restaurant. Good of the parents and kids, but for the rest of us, it kind of changed our dining experience having to listen to, and feel the tump of basketballs. Since parents can not be left to do the right thing for others, it seems the best thing to do is move the hoop.

My wife and I had dinner and we thought all the plates were very good. We ordered four plates for the center plus two deserts. We had the crunchy sushi, pork belly, shrimp plate with pineapple and a Lo Mein plate. Overall SOLID experience and ambiance.

We have had the luxury of dining in many fine asian restaurants. Unassuming places often have the most flavor in their food, while fancy places sometimes lack value but have ambience a plenty. Spice Market fell into this category. The hotel and grounds are lovely, and were whisked to our dinner via golf cart after valet. arriving through the lobby of the W is grand and colorful amidst whimsical art and dancing mosaics. We had to wait for an outside table for about 5 min past our reservation but the teens took that time to explore the grounds past the restaurant and they were pretty. Lots of people were seated and dining when we seated around 7:40. The waiter took a little too much time addressing our table initially , enough that thirsty teens started complaining, but once we placed drink order, the sparkling water, wine and lemonade arrived quickly as did our initial round of appetizers. But that was where the good service ended. My daughter bit into a very spicy jalapeño inside the pork bun (which were fair), and I had to get up from the table in order to track down a waiter to get her some more water and milk, that then took forever to arrive. Lobster spring rolls had no discernible lobster taste. The next round of food (our entrees) also took too long to order and arrive. The food was delivered by a runner. The Pad Thai was way too peanut forward, and the fried rice was gooey porridge. My son's Korean Chicken, although a big portion, was lacking sauce. Just a bowl of fried chicken with plain rice that needed soy sauce. The redeeming dish was the Miso glazed Sea Bass. Flavorful, flaky and hot. But the true miss of the evening was checkout. Once we were finished we waited more than 30 min for our waiter to appear to ask him for the check, and the runner to clear our plates that were empty for way too long. the dinner was 2hrs, kids were asleep at end. 1.5 hours would have been perfect but they just missed the service mark.

Shocked to see any good reviews, feels suspect. Hopefully this stops others from going. I guess if you live in a small town with no Asian cuisine maybe it’s okay but go to Si Sushi instead. We had nothing we would order again and we had 4 appetizers and 3 mains and left with my son still so hungry. Pad Thai- terrible, bland and frankly doesn’t taste like pad Thai. The Shrimp Curry- the red sauce was awful, zero Thai flavor The crispy sushi rice- bland and waste of money. Food was left just a four feet away to sit until the runner could come over. My son and I finished our entree then we got to watch my husband eat his. It was my husband’s birthday and not even a greeting or acknowledgement, nothing. Silly expensive for really terrible food. If you’re craving Asian go into the village and eat at SiSushi or go to the Four Seasons both are four times better. First appetizer arrived before we even had a water, and not because appetizers were fast. Our server was so unfriendly just collecting service fees and onto the next. There are so many great meals go elsewhere. Good Service and friendliness is so easy to find so again go there. Cancel your reservation and you’ll be so glad you did. Family of 3. $5000 Pesos… hard pass. Never again
