It's nice to be talked about! And with plant pot Eton mess, edible pebbles and golden squirrel foraged nuts, our unique afternoon tea menus certainly get people talking... It all started with our English Garden Tea which takes the traditional afternoon tea to a new level! Inspired by our countryside location, surrounded by mature trees and cottage garden flowers, we use the abundance of country fare available in Shropshire to create a special tea that reflects the beauty of our natural surroundings and captures that special English garden feel. Come rain or shine a visit into the country to enjoy our English Garden Tea will remind you that it’s a wonderful world!

£19.95pp. Executive Chef Paul Marshall has used the abundance of country fare available in Shropshire to create a tea that reflects the beauty of our natural surroundings and captures that special English garden feel. Currently being served Saturdays and Sunday between 12:00 and 4:00 and at other times for groups by arrangement. For groups and parties we can arrange a private room and help you make as much or as little of it as you like with expert event planning and decoration if required. Booking is always essential

The service was exceptional, the waiter was very friendly and polite. The food was excellent I would highly recommend the afternoon teas

Oddest experience of my life - food was lovely and well presented but waiter (older Italian man, maybe Angelo??) was very strange. Had his coat on and was leaving when we arrived, didn't seem too happy when we arrived despite having booked and arriving on time. He didn't ask what each individual person wanted to drink - one person said tea and he just made everyone tea. We noticed he did this to other tables too. Amongst many other things, he tried to take my plate away before I'd even finished. Then about 20 mins later he came back and told us our 'time was up' and took away our plates. We absolutely don't mind if they needed the table but he could've said it in a much nicer way - 'sorry but we need this table in 15 mins...'. He also shouted at another team member in front of us and when we were paying he mumbled something about a tip would be nice - no chance after that experience. In terms of Covid safe - this was shocking. He was wiping tables with his arm, no sign of any cleaning spray or wipes etc. His mask was on and off periodically throughout our time at the cafe, so in terms of covid we didn't feel safe and this is one of the reasons we would definitely not return. Food was lovely, but service was the strangest experience of my life. The waiter was nice at times (giving us glasses of prosecco) but at others really abrupt and came across very rude. He should not be serving front of house with those kind of behaviours, maybe the abruptness was a cultural thing but even so we came away feeling that we would not return because of the very strange odd service so the hotel should maybe think of this when considering who to put on service!

It was just lovely being back at the venue we got married in Rustic afternoon tea was amazing Very appropriate on a rather cold winterery day !

Excellent, friendly service and interesting variety of taster on the beautifully presented afternoon tea platter. Very well organised social distancing arrangement. Will definitely be returning for another afternoon tea. Thank you.

We had the afternoon tea, and it was wonderful. We were well beat and had to bring 2 of the cakes each home as too much to manage in one sitting. The food was beautiful and all home made. The service was great and Angelo is so funny. Will definitely go there again for food.

Really lovely, friendly and welcoming staff. It would’ve been good to be given a menu on arrival so we knew what to expect. The food was delicious and came out quickly. Some of the decorations looked a bit tired/cheap, possibly a little grubby everywhere too, but I LOVED the concept of the teepee and feel it has huge potential. Will definitely return. Thanks.
