The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it was slow getting the appetizer and then they brought the dinner 3 minutes later. I enjoyed the food. A little pricey. The amaretto sour was delicious. Overall solid restaurant.

Was curious about the restaurant, some friends had good experiences, some so so. Walking in, the place looked great. Love the moss wall and the overall decor reminded me of some restaurants I enjoyed in LA. The hostess was nice and took us to our seats. Our waitress was a bit of a trainwreck. She seemed hurried, drink order took forever, and pushed us to order at the drinks arrived to get ahead of a bigger party next to us. Mind you, we hadnt even ordered the appetizers yet. so we ordered everything at once, and it kind of set the tone for a hurry up and wait dining experience. We wanted wine with our meal, but she bring the wine with our entree, only when we were halfway done with our meal. Overall, it was just a wierd service experience. My main was great (short rib) and my dates scallops and pork belly was ok, but the dozen oysters we ordered as appetizers made us sick. we each had one oyster that tasted off, and both of us had stomach issues after dinner. So, great looking place, some of the food was really good, some made us sick, and service was just really unusual, like they had something else going on, or wasnt very experienced in that setting.

Our server tried to sneakily upcharge us several times. Once he realized we weren’t having it, he stopped checking in on us (the irony is we would have ordered more food and drinks if he had). Don’t be fooled by the “yam fries” - they are just the same sweet potato fries you can get at any dive bar but at 3x the price. My partner ordered the fried chicken sandwich, which was just 3 cutlets of chicken melded together with breading, which is definitely not what you expect for the price. It was dry and flavorless on top of that. The short rib was good and worth getting. It was tender and flavorful, as was the polenta. We probably won’t be back, the prices were high for what we received and the level of service our server gave us.

Just not very good overall. Mostly poor service, we had our appetizer (Burrata Avacado, best thing we had) before we had our drinks. Steak sandwich was ok, chicken sandwich was cold. Didn't clear our plates until the bill came, which included a fee for using a credit card? I paid cash and left.

We tried Sparrow for the first time. The sword fish was one of the best preparations I have ever had of this fish that I find difficult to prepare because it easily becomes too dry. They used quality fish and a nice sauce that produced a delicious meal. My wife had the eggplant parmigiana and sausage dish that was unique and tasty. She is a lover of eggplant parmigiana and gave it 5 stars. The service was good. We will be returning.

First time eating at Sparrow. We found the service to be very poor. The staff were overwhelmed. Waiter took some time to come take our order and also awhile after we were done. The food was good, the drinks were $20 and were mostly ice in a small glass. The one word I have is VALUE. The prices were out of control and very much not worth it. We aren’t coming back.
