The Sou'Wester Restaurant and Gift Shop began in 1967 as a small five table tearoom at the side of a house at its present location. It has been expanded over the last five decades to a 180-seat restaurant offering traditional Maritime and seafood dishes, and a two-level gift shop with one of the Maritimes largest selections of giftware. Today, more than 50 years later, The Sou'Wester is still run by the family of its founder, Jack Campbell.

                                                                          We enjoyed a delicious meal with family on a nice sunny day overlooking the scenic view of Peggy’s cove. Friendly staff added to this very enjoyable dining experience.

                                                                          You can't beat the location. It's right by the lighthouse and has amazing views of the ocean. Food was pretty good. We had the mussels and they were just ok. The soup was good though. Nice, friendly service.

                                                                          Our server was excellent. She had been working there for over 30 years and still loved her job. She treated the kids with respect and took great care of all of us. Thanks.

                                                                          Waiting time was long to be seated and to order and to get the food. Make sure you have plenty of time. Mussels were very fresh, so good! We had a window seat with good sea view.

Our waitress always smiled, checked up on us numerous times, offered her input on select dishes and really made us feel special as we dined at this restaurant. Only issue was that our open table reservation was never in their books but they found us room.

                                                                          The views alone would be enough! The food is excellent; particularly the seafood chowder. The wait staff is helpful and friendly. It’s all good.

                                                                          Our server had the BEST customer service EVER….. and she made our day with her amazing personality! The food was delicious (mussels hit the spot) and we even saved room for dessert which was sooooo good!!! Can’t wait to come back! Carrie Faulkner
