Great food as always. Server was the best I’ve had since before the pandemic. Terrific! Noise level is reasonable outside especially at lunch. Only downside— Drinks are a bit expensive and loaded with ice. No margin is profit enough these days for restaurants apparently.

We had the best time with friends celebrating a birthday and it was amazing. From the moment we walked into the restaurant and were greeted by the host to the most amazing waitress that handled every thing we needed perfectly to the time we had to leave it was perfection. the food was delicious but more than that our waitress (I wish I could remember her name) made us feel right at home. We can’t wait to go back!!

The food is good and the service is good. However, the girls at the hostess stand were not only rude and dismissive, but apparently seemed uninformed about how Open table operates. I came into the restaurant asked how long a wait that it was. They told me 30 minutes. I then went on the open table phone app and saw that there were reservations available at 7pm and it was 6:50pm. So I made a reservation. The hostess told me that it didnt matter that it was still a 30 minute wait. I sat patiently and watched people come in at 7pm with reservations and sat immediately. I came back to the stand at 7pm and showed them my reservation. Did not matter. It was not honored and I still had to wait until 730pm to get seated. This makes no sense to me. Why have reservations on. open table if the restaurant is not going to honor them. The hostess was then just really dismissive. I do not understand for the life of me why these restaurants hire people to be front of house that have no people skills or communication skills whatsoever. It's baffling.

South of Nick’s is a very nice upscale restaurant with a lovely ambiance to include an excellent wait staff and delicious food! I would highly recommend!

I was so hoping this would be better than it was! We are huge fans of Tamarindo in Del Mar, and opted for a change of scenery. But oh my goodness, you cannot even compare the drinks or the food. And all of us had upset stomachs after. We did like the chips and the salsa. That was delicious. But it really stops there.

I love South of Nicks, I've been to Laguna Beach, San Clemente and Del Mar and they are all great. Tonight, the dinner was superb at the Del Mar location and the service was excellent

Always such a great experience here. We used do drive up the coast to San Clemente and since they’ve opened in Del Mar we’ve been able to enjoy it more. Great combination plates; enchilada & taco, blackened shrimp salad is delicious and the skinny Cadillac margarita is the best! Highly recommend this restaurant.
