   This was our first time dining at Sottovento as we were staying at the Hotel connected to the restaurant. Overall, the ambience was great, but the food and service left more to be desired. We first sat down and the server took our drink orders. It took about just over ten minutes to get our cocktails and soft drinks (the restaurant was not busy). We placed our order for dinner and the entrees came in a timely manner. All of the meals were overly salty, which was unfortunate because it took away from the overall taste. I had the Veal Chop and it was very salty, my wife had the lobster pasta dish and the pasta itself was extremely salty. Our water glasses were slow to be filled as well. In conclusion, for a restaurant at this price point, I would not return as the food and service don’t match the price of each dish. It’s too bad because we love Italian food!

   Este restaurante redefine lo que significa comer bien. Desde la presentación de los platos hasta el balance de sabores en cada uno de ellos, todo estuvo impecable. La selección de vinos es muy acertada y el ambiente ideal para una cena especial. La atención del personal fue cálida y profesional, siempre atentos a cada detalle, desde el host, meseros y dueño. Definitivamente, una experiencia gastronómica de alto nivel.

   The food was not that great. Everything was just a bit off, my dirty martini was greasy instead of briny and the olives tasted like they were packed in oil. The burrata didn’t come with bread, but there were bread plates on the table. My pasta was thick and tough, the dough was over worked.

   The service here was the best we had in San Juan. We ate in a lot of restaurants but the server here was amazing! The food was good and priced reasonable. Nice intimate setting and lovely atmosphere.

   We had a wonderful time at Sottovento. The food was incredible, and the service was terrific. You could really tell the chef loves cooking and wants people to enjoy the food. The attention to detail was evident. We celebrated the 36th anniversary of my boyfriend's parents, and they had a fantastic time. We will be going back when we are back in Puerto Rico!

   My experience at Sottovento was nothing short of exceptional. Mateo, my server, is a seasoned professional who made me feel completely at ease—almost as if I were at home. His warmth and expertise elevated the entire dining experience. I started with the local potatoes and caviar, which were simply spectacular. Following Mateo’s recommendation, I had the branzino, and it was absolutely delightful—perfectly delicate and well-executed. The wine selection was excellent, with both the Vermentino and Primitivo pairing beautifully with the meal. The cocktails were just as impressive. The atmosphere was also elegant and beautiful. Sottovento delivers an exquisite culinary experience with top-tier service. I’ll definitely be returning with my special ones! 🤍

   The restaurant is beautiful and serenely decorated. Our waitress was wonderful, helpful, friendly, and sweet. The food was wonderful. I have the seafood stew that was absolutely delicious.

The branzino was fresh and perfectly roasted, while the filet mignon was tender, flavorful, and expertly prepared. Their homemade pasta is cooked to perfection, delivering authentic Italian flavors in every bite. To top it all off, the house-made tiramisu is “to die for” the perfect sweet ending to an outstanding meal.
