Soto Restaurant is a unique Japanese restaurant located in South Austin. Executive Sushi Chef Andy, has worked as the executive chef in some of the best Japanese restaurants in the world.     Everything we had was delicious. Especially the Sea Bass appetizer. I will dream about it. Yum.

    Food was delicious! The sushi fish was fresh, delicate, amazing flavors. They had a great selection. The prices reflects the value. Be prepared to spend a bit. House hot sake was wonderful. The uni pasta there is out of this world, decadent. Our server was great. Overall 5 out of 5 sushi spot.

    While I have enjoyed previous meals at Soto, my recent experience was unfortunately underwhelming. Service was notably slow, with a lack of communication regarding order delays. While I understand that unforeseen circumstances can occur, proactive communication with guests is crucial. I hope this feedback is considered for future service improvements.

    At $175 per person for the valentines dinner, I felt the food was sub-par. We had dry rice with our sashimi. Several items had far too much wasabi that overpowered the dish.

    Valentines Omakase was a fail for me. We have been to the cedar park location several times and have always had a great experience. All the fish was pre cut. Our waiter was not excellent. We were not drinking alcohol and he made it super awkward, did not offer MOCKtail options, took 30 min to bring my wife a green tea, and basically just was not to the level that I would expect for paying $175 per person. It was oversold in my opinion and chaotic. Not going back. Sadly it started out valentines off on the wrong foot.
