It was amazing experience. I will say the best Korean restaurant in Calgary. I can see they put so much efforts for good quality food . We ordered appetizers, main dishes , sot seafood rice, Korean bingsu and earl grey tiramisu. Every single dish my husband and I loved . I am so happy to see good Korean fine boutique restaurant in Calgary . I highly recommend to visit SOT.

A delightful experience! Our party of 6 asked the staff to "just feed us", and the outcome was superb.

I tried SOT for the first time. The staff were very friendly and greet us as we walked in. The menu had good variety to choose from, different proteins, sides, etc. We had come in later in the evening after the dinner rush but I felt like we waited pretty long for our food. The beef tartar came at a good time but I felt like we were just waiting on the rest. By the time the food came out, we were excited to eat. The food felt like elevated home cooking. The rice we ordered was tasty and paired up well with the proteins we got. Out of the mains we tried, everyone liked the pork the most. But the seasoning and sauces were light in flavour. The bulgogi beef was grilled but felt like it was missing a sauce. The duck was cooked well but the crust could use some more seasoning. When paired up with the sides of cabbage kimchi and cucumber kimchi I felt like it overpowered the mains. So as I tried to eat the mains I wasn’t able to taste too much of a difference. The experience was a nice change from other Korean restaurants in Calgary. But it feels like there’s more improvements that can be done as they improve their processes and menu.

First off, although we made reservations, we were sat by the stairs instead of the available booths and not many other people were even there when we arrived or even after we left. The main dish/ item my partner wanted wasn't available, which was surprising since their menu isn't a vast one. Our server didn't refill our water or bring out side dishes until I asked and basically paid very little attention to us. Plates were somewhat on the smaller side and of good quality, which was the saving grace of the whole experience, but did it impress us so much that we would come back or recommend to friends? Probably not.

Very bubbly atmosphere. Friendly staff , design was nice. Had the pork dish. Kinda bland. Tomato salad was fresh and tasty. Fair price for the wine.

Food was good but nothing outstanding. Beautiful presentation but nothing that makes it stand above or apart from other Korean restaurants that are 1/2 the price point. Newer restaurant with new restaurant issues. The staff were friendly but very green, portions were small, but flavorful; cocktails were limited but the one that I had was good.

Loved the place so much! Can't say it's super authentic but has a very nice balance. The sot rice in Staub was perfectly done with just the right amount of seasoning! Their steamed egg isn't exactly Korean as it has more of Japanese steamed egg taste with crème brûlée texture but it was amazing! Enjoyed every bite of appetizer, main dishes, side dishes and dessert! We are definitely going back!
